Thank You Five Star Subaru of Grapevine from Uplift Education!

Uplift Education deeply appreciates Five Star Subaru in Grapevine for their support of our scholars at Uplift Grand Preparatory School. Each year, Subaruā€™s commitment shines through during the Subaru Loves Learning month in August, a time when they generously contribute to our back-to-school efforts. Their continued partnership is not only evidence of their dedication to education but it directly impacts our primary teachers and scholars in grades K-5. "Subaru has been an excellent partner for Uplift Grand Primary for more than five years now," shared Danielle Alexander, Academic Director of Uplift Grand Primary School. "Their support is meaningful to our teachers, scholars, and families. It lets us know that we are not alone in educating our scholars who have big dreams. We appreciate having the additional support that Subaru provides to ensure that our scholars have the resources to start our year off strong." Subaru gives annual grants for classroom supplies, ensuring that our teachers at Uplift Grand Preparatory School have the tools they need to create engaging and effective learning environments. These resources are invaluable, allowing our scholars to begin the school year equipped and ready to learn. Every year, they host a special back-to-school celebration complete with sweet treats, which brought smiles to the faces of our young learners during the second week of school. We are thankful to Subaru for making our students feel valued and celebrated as they embark on a new academic year. Uplift Education is the largest public charter school network in North Texas, growing from 1 school in 1996 to 45 schools on 21 campuses in six cities across Dallas-Fort Worth. Uplift serves 23,000 preK-12 students and are deliberately located in low-income urban neighborhoods to address the need for high-quality public school choice options for North Texasā€™ underserved communities. 80% of Uplift students participate in free and reduced lunch and 33% have limited English proficiency. Yet, Uplift has a proven formula for success, resulting in 100% of students being accepted to college for the past 20 years. Uplift is truly grateful for Five Star Subaru's consistent efforts to bridge gaps and make a difference. As we begin the school year, we are filled with gratitude for the positive impact you have made and continue to make in our community. Thank you, Subaru, for helping Uplift build a brighter future for our scholars.

A Five Star Day of Gratitude!

On a sunny morning in Grand Prairie, the halls of Uplift Grand Preparatory School buzzed with an unusual excitement. Our teachers and staff, dedicated and often working behind the scenes, were about to receive a heartfelt surprise. Five Star Subaru, known for their commitment to excellence and community engagement, decided to show their appreciation in a special way. Armed with gift cards and delectable Nothing Bundt Cakes, the team from Five Star Subaru set out to bring joy to those who shape the future: our educators and support staff of Uplift Grand Preparatory. The day began with our teachers preparing their lessons as usual, unaware of the surprise in store. At around mid-morning, the Five Star Subaru team arrived, their arms full of beautifully wrapped gift cards and mouth-watering cakes. Our school's principal, in on the secret, greeted them warmly and helped coordinate the surprise. Classroom by classroom, the team made their way through the school. The first stop was Ms. Martinez's kindergarten class. The children, initially puzzled by the visitors, soon caught on to the excitement as Ms. Martinez was presented with a gift card and a delicious cake. Her eyes sparkled with gratitude as she thanked the team, touched by the unexpected recognition of her hard work and dedication. Next was Mr. Johnsonā€™s class. Known for his engaging and dynamic teaching style, Mr. Johnson was in the midst of a lively discussion on ecosystems when the Five Star Subaru team entered. His surprise quickly turned into a broad smile as he accepted the gifts, his students cheering and clapping in appreciation of their teacher. As the day progressed, each teacher and staff member received their gifts, and the halls of Uplift Grand Preparatory resonated with expressions of gratitude and joy. From the administrative staff who keep the school running smoothly to the janitorial team who ensure a clean and safe environment, everyone felt a wave of appreciation. One particularly touching moment occurred in Mrs. Laneā€™s class. Mrs. Lane was awarded one of the teachers of the year in 2023 from Five Star Subaru. With another gift in hand, she was moved to tears. She spoke about the challenges and rewards of fostering a love of reading in young minds, and how much the recognition meant to her. ā€œItā€™s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do,ā€ she said. The Five Star Subaru team was deeply inspired by their visit. The dedication, passion, and resilience of the teachers and staff here at Uplift Grand Preparatory were truly humbling. Witnessing firsthand the positive impact these educators have on their students' lives reinforced the importance of community support and recognition. As the day ended, the atmosphere at Uplift Grand Preparatory was one of warmth and appreciation. The Five Star Subaru team left with their hearts full, having made meaningful connections and shared in a day of celebration and gratitude. They were inspired not only by the teachers and staff but also by the enthusiastic and bright students who are the true testament to the school's success. This special day underscored the profound impact of recognizing and valuing those who dedicate their lives to education. Five Star Subaru's visit to Uplift Grand Preparatory School was more than just a gesture of appreciation; it was a celebration of community, dedication, and the unwavering commitment to nurturing the future generation. In the end, it was a day that will be remembered by everyone at Uplift Grand Preparatory School and Five Star Subaru. It was a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference and that the bonds between a community and its schools are vital and worth cherishing.

Wish Upon A Par

At Five Star Subaru, we believe that the children in our community are our greatest treasure and that investing in their dreams is crucial for a brighter future. This belief is why we were thrilled to sponsor the Make-A-Wish Foundation in their annual Wish Upon A Par golf tournament! The Make-A-Wish Foundation is dedicated to granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, bringing hope, strength, and joy into their lives. When children facing challenging medical conditions receive their heartfelt wishes, it empowers them to see beyond their illness and instills confidence in their potential to achieve remarkable things. It is essential for these children to feel the love and support from their community, and Make-A-Wish Foundationā€™s mission is to provide exactly that. As part of our commitment to supporting such an incredible cause, Five Star Subaru proudly contributed a $3,500 sponsorship. We are honored to be a part of this initiative and to help bring smiles to the faces of these amazing children.

Waddle We Do Without You? Thanks for Your Support!

Dear Five Star Subaru, On behalf of the Grapevine Rotary Club, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Five Star Subaru for your generous support as the title sponsor for our annual Grapevine Rotary Duck fundraiser. The event, held at Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine, was a tremendous success, raising over $20,000 for scholarships benefiting local schools. Your sponsorship played a pivotal role in making this event possible. It was a super fun and collaborative way to engage the community in our mission, and we are incredibly grateful for your involvement. The funds raised will make a significant impact on the education and future of many students in our area. Rolling for a Cause: Five Star Subaru and AMBUCS Team Up for Strikes and Smiles!

Five Star Subaru had the honor to be the Gold Sponsor of the annual AMBUCS bowling tournament. With echoes of rolling bowling balls and joyous laughter, Grapevine AMBUCS, Five Star Subaru, and the community witnessed a heartwarming celebration. This bowling tournament was a beacon of hope and empowerment to a deserving young lady, Emma Williams, on her 13th birthday. In a touching moment that epitomized the spirit of the evening, Grapevine AMBUCS presented Emma with an AmTryke, a specially adapted tricycle designed to provide mobility and independence to individuals with physical disabilities. Emma's radiant smile lit up the entire venue as she embraced her newfound freedom with boundless enthusiasm. But the impact didn't stop there. The tournament, fueled by the collective efforts of Five Star Subaru and the Grapevine AMBUCS community, raised an impressive $5,000. This substantial contribution will fuel AMBUCS' mission to empower individuals with mobility disadvantages through adaptive technologies like AmTrykes, scholarships for therapists, and vital community services such as building ADA accessible ramps and home modifications. Reflecting on the evening's success, the collective efforts from AMBUCS, Five Star Subaru and the community reaffirmed their commitment to enabling individuals like Emma to overcome mobility barriers, not just through financial support but through education, training, and access to the latest research and technology. AmTrykes, they emphasized, are not just tools for physical improvement; they are catalysts for confidence, positive peer interaction, and a brighter future. As the echoes of strikes and spares fade into the night, the impact of Five Star Subaru's sponsorship at the Grapevine AMBUCS Bowling Tournament resonates far beyond the lanes, echoing the power of community support and the boundless potential of every individual to achieve independence and mobility.

One Trash Bag at a Time!

Five Star Subaru is a proud volunteer of Keep Grapevine Beautiful Adopt-An-Area. This fun program allows us to keep our community and business litter-free. We commit to conduct at least 6 cleanups on our street (Stone Myers Parkway) throughout each year. Litter is more than just a blight on our landscape. Litter is costly to clean up, impacts our quality of life and economic development, and eventually ends up in our waterways and oceans. Here at Five Star Subaru we are committed to help prevent litter with the ultimate goal of helping to end littering in our community.

Operation Warm 2024

The collaborative efforts between Five Star Subaru and Operation Warm on January 22nd left an indelible mark on the heart of our community. In partnering with us here at Volunteers of America (VOA), Five Star Subaru donated 252 Coats, 252 Shoes, and 252 pairs of socks to the children of our community in need. The impact transcends mere material donations; it speaks to a profound commitment to compassion and solidarity. As we reflect on the significance of this event, we recognize that it is not just about providing coats, shoes, and socks. It's about acknowledging the stark realities faced by families in our midst, navigating through economic hardships and resource disparities. It's about ensuring that no child experiences the bitter chill of winter without the warmth and protection they deserve. Through the unwavering generosity of Five Star Subaru, coupled with the dedication of Operation Warm, they were able to extend a ray of hope to over 80 children and their families who showed to the event and many more who could not make it in that cold night. The ripple effect of this gesture reverberates far beyond the confines of a single event, permeating through the fabric of our society and fostering a spirit of empathy and support. Each coat, each pair of shoes, and every pair of socks served as a tangible manifestation of care and concern. They symbolized the collective efforts of a community coming together to uplift and empower its most vulnerable members. In the faces of those who received these gifts, we saw not just gratitude, but also a renewed sense of dignity and resilience. The impact of this collaboration extends beyond the confines of a single day. It serves as a beacon of hope for those who may be struggling, a reminder that they are not alone in their journey. It reaffirms our shared humanity and the power of compassion to effect meaningful change. As we move forward, we will carry the spirit of this event in our hearts, remembering that small acts of kindness can ignite profound transformation. We will continue to stand in solidarity with those in need, embodying the ethos of Subaru Loves to Help and Operation Warm movement. Spreading Christmas Joy with Five Star Subaru

Five Star Subaru was fortunate to walk around the Meals on Wheels facility to see where all the meals are made, and resources are stored but also to see the amazing people who make sure that this program runs smoothly! After that they decided to contribute some time and resources to bring hot meals to individuals in need as well as a few gift bags that consisted of slippers, socks, soap, shampoo, lotions etc. On their way back from handing out meals, they stopped by Mission Arlington where they donated bags and bags and bags of toys for the Arlington community. Throughout the day, Five Star Subaru encountered stories of resilience, love, and the unwavering strength of the human spirit. The experience left them exhausted but deeply fulfilled, their lives enriched by the profound impact of giving. I wanted to share this experience with you, as it was a day that highlighted the beauty of human connection and the positive impact we can have on each other's lives. Here with Five Star Subaru we are dedicated to continue to find ways to spread kindness and make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Five Star Subaru Stands Strong For Breast Cancer Awareness

Five Star Subaru host the annual adoption event with Operation Kindness

Five Star Subaru and Operation Kindness joined forces for our annual Adoption event. This event was held in the showroom of Five Star Subaru where customers, employees, and the community gathered to provide each of the animals a forever home! Operation Kindness brought a litter of 7 to the event (Barbie, Margot, Allan, Will, Ryan, Greta, and Skipper) Five Star Subaru covered all adoption fees as well as handed out New Parent Kits to all the new adopted families. A special highlight of the event is when Greta was adopted. Her adopter Anthony, an employee at Subaru, carried her around throughout the duration of the event! He brought her up to the siblings one by one as they got adopted to say goodbye. Cookie and Walnut were two of the litter and them getting adopted together was very exciting! The family had just lost two of their dogs and were huge animal lovers (they even mentioned buying a run-down house purely because it had lots of land for the dogs). So, they were very excited to fill the space. Their own child was trying to convince the adults to get both, but they were worried that they wouldnā€™t get along. As they were deciding which puppy to get, the family members holding Cookie and Walnut got close enough for the puppies to sniff each other and they immediately gave each other big kisses on the face, at that point the family was sold. Another fun activity during the event was the Solar Eclipse! The community gathered and shared a pair of glasses for everyone to look at the eclipse and look at something that was very rare. Even the adopters were thinking of eclipse-themed names! In conclusion, this event brought lots of love, laughter and most of all, provided new homes for the puppies that needed a family!

Five Star Subaru and Grapevine Rotary Club join together for the annual Duck Races

We're thrilled for the local students in GCISD who were awarded scholarships this year, thanks to the incredible support of our generous community partners, including Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. On a sunny Thursday, May 4th, a spectacular event unfolded as 2,500 vibrant yellow rubber ducks embarked on a thrilling race down the Great Wolf Lodge water slide, competing for fantastic prizes. Among the colorful flock, there were "plucked" ducks, a few quirky "lame" ducks, and, of course, the coveted 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners. This spirited gathering marked the annual Grapevine Rotary Rubber Duck race, a heartwarming tradition that raises funds to provide scholarships for deserving high school seniors in our area. Notably, Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru of Grapevine stood as a dedicated Event Sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. Their commitment went far beyond financial contributions; they shared their time and enthusiasm, making the event even more special. Five Star Subaru introduced exciting additions to the event, such as a lively dice roll for participating Rotarians and duck adoptees, who dared to dream of driving away in a brand-new Subaru. The race began with a thrilling moment as Subaru of Grapevine's very own Love Promise Champion, Ron Berman, and the rest of the Five Star team eagerly pulled the rope, releasing the ducks into the lazy river for their thrilling dash to the finish line. Adding to the excitement, and employee of Five Star Subaru, Jessica Bass, surprised everyone by arriving in full "shark" attire, injecting energy into the crowd and motivating the ducks to swim their fastest, fearing her pursuit. Five Star Subaru's support extended far beyond race day. They contributed $2,500 annually, a gesture many companies make for fundraising events, but they took it a step further. They actively assisted in the adoption of ducks, served on the event planning committee, promoted Rotary's noble cause at their dealership, and actively participated in the annual Grapevine Rotary Duck Race. Although Five Star Subaru is one of the largest and most successful dealerships in Texas, they don't simply focus on their business. Their mission transcends car sales and leasing; they aspire to make a meaningful impact in their community, and they undeniably succeed. On behalf of the Grapevine Rotary Club and the countless students who have benefited from educational scholarships, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Five Star Subaru for their enduring commitment to these annual scholarship fundraisers. In 2022 alone, their support helped raise an impressive $25,000 towards scholarships. Five Star Subaru eagerly anticipate our continued partnership and more delightful "Shark-Nanigans" in the upcoming Rubber Duck Race, which was an absolute hit among children and adults alike. Together, we are making a profound difference in the lives of our local students, helping them achieve their dreams through education.

Back To School Bash 2023

Uplift Education extends its heartfelt gratitude to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for their unwavering support of Uplift Grand Preparatory School. On August 31, the retailer hosted a Subaru Loves LearningĀ® celebration for our primary students, marking a very special moment in our ongoing partnership. Five Star Subaru of Grapevine hosted a morning of excitement, bringing together over 800 primary students and their teachers. The event included a spirited pep rally and awards were presented to teachers who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and excellence in their work, as recognized through the national Subaru Loves Learning program. Subaru made a $2,000 donation that we absolutely needed for the needs of the new school year. Lastly, Five Star Subaru handed out 821 snow cones to all the students and staff that attended the celebration. Danielle Alexander, Academic Director of Uplift Grand Primary School, said, "We are profoundly grateful for the support from Five Star Subaru, who have been incredible advocates of Uplift Grand Preparatory for many years. SubieFest 2023

Subiefest TX 2023 was a whirlwind of excitement for Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, and it would be a story they would remember for years to come. As the sun rose over the Texan horizon, Subiefest TX, an annual celebration of all things Subaru, was about to kick off, and the dealership was gearing up for an unforgettable day. Subaru enthusiasts from all corners of the state were expected to descend upon the event, and Five Star Subaru was determined to make their mark. The event itself was nothing short of spectacular. Subiefest TX had it all ā€“ a dazzling array of Subarus, from vintage classics to the latest models, competitions that revved hearts, demonstrations that left spectators in awe, and meet-and-greets with Subaru legends like Scott Speed and Bucky Lasek. Autocross racing, delicious food trucks, lively entertainment, raffles that promised big wins, and a bustling Subaru Gear Store all added to the excitement. This year's Subiefest was destined for greatness from the start, shattering records as 3,840 enthusiasts flocked to the event, setting a new attendance record for inaugural Subiefest gatherings. But it wasn't just about numbers; it was about community, generosity, and making a difference. Five Star Subaru was at the heart of the action. With over 30 enthusiastic employees, their booth was a hub of activity. Attendees eagerly lined up for giveaways, and lucky winners walked away with prizes that included a Thule roof basket, a sleek Subaru bicycle, and three coveted Subaru pop-up tents. But the dealership's commitment to giving back didn't stop there. They offered up a 2022+ WRX STI Lip Kit, a prized possession worth $1,600, for the raffle. Each raffle ticket sold meant a $5 donation to the SPCA. With 78 tickets sold, their initial donation of $390 was impressive. Yet, in a heartwarming gesture, they decided to double the donation, ultimately contributing a total of $780 to support animal welfare. One touching moment that would be remembered for years to come unfolded when a couple decided to adopt a dog during the event. They paid an adoption fee of $75, but little did they know, an unexpected surprise awaited them. Doug Laymon, a manager at Five Star Subaru, was so moved by their act of compassion that he decided to reimburse the couple. Their gratitude was beyond words. But the surprises didn't end there. Doug Laymon, joined by his son and another manager with Five Star Subaru, Jeff Davis, embarked on a mission of spreading joy. They ventured through the event, selecting a random Subaru enthusiast, and, with smiles on their faces, gave away an Aeroflow Dynamics Lip Kit, Canards, and Splitter worth a staggering $900, all broadcasted live on Facebook. The lucky recipient was left stunned and overjoyed. The dealership's booth became a community hotspot, attracting over two thousand visitors who eagerly participated in their raffle drawings. It was more than just business; it was about forging connections with Subaru enthusiasts, customers, and members of the passionate Subaru community. As the day drew to a close, Five Star Subaru looked to the future with excitement and anticipation. Their commitment to engaging with the Subaru community and giving back to their community through charitable contributions remained unwavering. Subiefest TX 2023 had not only been a successful event for Subaru as a whole but also a triumph for Five Star Subaru, leaving a lasting legacy of generosity, community spirit, and customer appreciation.

Subaru Share the Love Parade

The ā€œSubaru Share the Love EventĀ® Parade" hosted by Five Star Subaru of Grapevine is an annual parade dedicated to celebrating the spirit of giving and community support. This heartwarming event shines a spotlight on two remarkable charities, "Serving our Seniors" and "GRACE," both of which have been making a significant difference in the lives of people in the local community. "Serving our Seniors" is an organization that focuses on assisting and uplifting senior citizens in Grapevine and the surrounding areas. Their mission is to provide essential resources, companionship, and care to seniors who may be facing challenges, loneliness, or financial hardships. Through various initiatives and volunteer efforts, they ensure that the elderly in the community is not forgotten and have access to the support they need. "GRACE" is another prominent charity that plays a vital role in improving the lives of families and individuals facing difficult circumstances. They tackle issues related to poverty, hunger, housing, and healthcare, aiming to empower people and offer them a chance to build a better future. Their commitment to creating a stronger, more compassionate community aligns perfectly with the values upheld by Five Star Subaru. On Tuesday May 16th, during the Subaru Share the LoveĀ® Event Parade, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine collaborated closely with these two charities to raise awareness and funds for their respective causes. The event typically starts with a vibrant parade, where community members, Subaru enthusiasts, and representatives from both charities come together to march, drive decorated cars, and display banners, showcasing the spirit of solidarity. Following the parade, there are often engaging activities and entertainment organized at the dealership. Local businesses and vendors frequently participate, offering their support and contributing to the festivities. It's a day filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of unity as the community comes together to celebrate the good work done by Serving our Seniors and GRACE. One of the highlights of the event was the charitable donations that Five Star Subaru of Grapevine pledges for every Subaru vehicle sold during the event's duration. This year, with the help of customers, Five Star Subaru and a personal contribution from Sam Pack himself, we were able to raise a combined total of $223,692 for these deserving charities! Clapping, complete joy, happy tears and lots of hugs filled the room when these checks were presented. Overall, the Share the Love Event is a heartwarming celebration of compassion, generosity, and kindness, reinforcing the belief that by coming together as a community, we can create positive change and help those who need it the most.

A Miracle in May for Pediatric Epilepsy

Mickieā€™s Miracles is a nonprofit that advocates for children battling pediatric epilepsy to get an urgent diagnosis at the highest level of treatment possible to preserve quality of life, and in some cases prevent loss of life. Mickieā€™s Miracles began after CEO/Visionary Founder Kristie Griess and her husband Gabe experienced their daughter Mikayla having a seizure at just 3 months of age. What followed were visits to multiple hospitals/specialists on Kristieā€™s journey to save her daughterā€™s life. After over 8 months of failed medication protocols and more questions than answers, the Griess Family found themselves at Childrenā€™s Hospital of Orange County under the care of Pediatric Epileptologist Dr. Mary Zupanc. One day before Mickieā€™s 1st birthday, Dr. Z performed brain surgery to remove the parietal, temporal and occipital lobe of the left hemisphere of Mickie's brain. After being told Mickie may never walk, talk, or even survive, she is now a thriving, seizure-free 11-year-old. Mickie is a sassy, fearless fashionista who dances, plays soccer, swims, and sings. As Dad Gabe Griess puts it, ā€œThey cut out fear from Mickieā€™s brain when they performed that surgery.ā€ On May 3rd, Mickieā€™s Miracles and Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru of Grapevine partnered for the 'Miracle in May' watch party that took place at their dealership. Discussions for the event began December of 2022, when Jessica Bass at Five Star Subaru approached Kristie after hearing her speak about Mickie's Miracles at a Grapevine Rotary Club meeting. She expressed how moved she was by Mickie's story and asked how they could help. After many heartfelt discussions and some brainstorming, everything came to fruition at the end of the 1st quarter in 2023. What followed was an impressive effort of collaboration and community mobilization spearheaded by Mickieā€™s Miracles and Five Star Subaru's Love PromiseĀ® Community Relations team (Jessica Bass, Taylor Ates, and others). They helped organize the many event particulars and generously provided exciting auction prizes (a Subaru Outdoor Travel Package, Subaru Pet Lovers Package, and a Weekend Warrior Package). Overall, the team came together to round out an impressive grassroots and social media marketing effort to create a fun and meaningful night to remember. Over $10,000 was raised to help Mickieā€™s Miracles save children's lives, including those suffering from epilepsy here in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex. Five Star Subaru created the fundraising momentum by donating $3,000, the packages mentioned above, the physical space, seating, food, refreshments, and more. All done with enthusiasm and excitement for this beautiful community collaboration. Most importantly, the resources raised through 'Miracle in May' will go directly to families when they need it most. Pediatric epilepsy is incredibly dangerous to a childā€™s developing brain and can often lead to permanent brain damage or even death if left undiagnosed or untreated. Most arenā€™t aware of the urgency needed or that 1 in 26 people will experience epilepsy in their lifetime. Epilepsy is more prevalent than Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimerā€™s, and Cerebral Palsy combined. By the time most parents find Mickieā€™s Miracles for help, significant time has been lost and months of undiagnosed or mistreated epilepsy has wreaked havoc on their childā€™s brain. Thatā€™s why the work Mickieā€™s Miracles does is so important. They urgently advocate for children to get to Level IV Pediatric Epilepsy Centers and donā€™t take no for an answer. Whatever it takes, Mickieā€™s get their families to the front of the line to stem the potential brain damage and provide these sweet souls with the opportunity for the quality of life every child deserves. Amazingly, the upfront advocacy is only the beginning of Mickieā€™s Miraclesā€™ work with families. Once a child has gone through the testing, diagnosis, and treatment protocol, Mickieā€™s lovingly puts its arms around these families every step of the way. They provide emotional support, connect families to other families who understand the difficulty of pediatric epilepsy, and to required resources (monitoring and social services). Additionally, they sponsor the Caring for Caregivers Mental Health Program, a practical mental health support system for caregivers of medically complex children and Beyond Diagnosis, a program helping parents learn what to expect along every season of the long and often difficult post diagnosis journey. The heartwarming testimonies from Mom's at the 'Miracle in May' event sharing how their sweet child likely wouldnā€™t be alive without Mickieā€™s Miracles embodies the Subaru Love Promise down to its very core. Mickie's is blessed for the partnership with the Five Star Subaru family whose compassion and support are making a meaningful difference in so many lives. The 'Miracle in May' virtual fundraising watch party was a huge success and it's without a doubt that Five Star Subaru Loves to CareĀ®.

Five Star Subaru Loves the Earth GIVES Garden Refresh to Heritage Elementary School Students.

In the early 2000, s our local partners, Keep Grapevine Beautiful helped build a garden on the Heritage Elementary School grounds to benefit our garden club students. Today, the Garden Club continues to thrive. The Garden Club is an ongoing, hands on learning club for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade where they have the opportunity to work together with Master Gardeners in our community. Our meetings usually take place on the first Monday of the month right after school where garden club members learn about the importance of pollinators, preparing the soil to plant vegetables and flowers, and how to propagate plants. The children have the opportunity to harvest and take home the vegetables they planted which they find very rewarding and fun. With the help of our Community, Tarrant County Master Gardeners, and our Garden Club students, we continue weekly maintenance of our outdoor garden. However, after years of wear and tear from the extreme Texas weather, our garden was starting to break down and our raised beds began falling apart. We submitted a GIVES grant proposal to Keep Grapevine Beautiful for a good, better, and best request for funds to help with our garden makeover. A program that Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru of Grapevine have been the primary sponsor for giving $3,000 each year to help beautify our community through their Subaru Loves the EarthĀ® initiative. We requested materials and supplies needed to rebuild our vegetable beds, to stain wood of new beds and gardening shed, paint our water barrel, garden mail box, garden signage, and update our garden defender (aka Tucker the scarecrow). Once we were told we were one of the three finalists, the Garden Club students presented their needs to the Keep Grapevine Beautiful board of directors which included Community Relations Coordinator Jessica Bass from Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. To our surprise, we were awarded beyond our ā€˜bestā€™ request and granted $1,500. Five Star Subaru of Grapevine being an intricate part of the program spent time reviewing our application and helped with the decision to sponsor our program with a grant for even more than we were hoping for. On February 4th, our wonderful volunteers in the community, our Garden Club students and their families all came together to help during our Garden Refresh Day. Jessica, Shantai, and Ivette from Five Star Subaru of Grapevine were among the many volunteers ready to get their hands dirty and who sustained the energy of us all by bringing delicious cookies to snack on. We mulched the entire garden, built and filled 6 new raised garden beds with fresh soil, planted seasonal onions, and Tucker (our scarecrow mascot) received the ultimate makeover. The following Monday, we had our monthly Garden Club meeting and our students were beyond excited to see the nicely refreshed garden, including the larger beds for additional planting. Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru truly Loves the Earth and we couldn't be more grateful for your generous grant and help in making our Garden Refresh project a great success!

Trykes for Tykes Holiday Celebration

What better way to start off a beautiful sunny December afternoon, than to gather together around the festive Christmas tree in the middle of Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevineā€™s beautiful showroom with four new Amtrykes sporting extra-large green bows? Grapevine AMBUCS, with the help of Five Star Subaru, donated four Amtrykes to children who had never had the opportunity to have freedom of mobility. Each child, ranging from 3 years old to 12 years old, had huge smiles on their faces as they took off riding their new custom fit Amtrykes in Five Star Subaruā€™s parking lot. The sense of freedom and excitement on the childrenā€™s faces riding through the parking lot at the event for the very first time while everyone in the crowd cheered them on was truly a moving experience. One young man was noticeably leery of the crowd, but forgot his fears as he was put on his very own Tryke! Five Star Subaru even went the extra mile to invite Grapevinesā€™ very own Dark Knight himself, Batman, to join in on the excitement and put such huge smiles on all of the kidsā€™ faces! The parents looked so happy when they got to watch their children experience riding their Trykes for the very first time while meeting this superhero. The real challenge was rounding them back up to take a group picture! Five Star Subaru sure knows how to celebrate the season. Jessica Bass; the Community Relations Coordinator at Five Star Subaru, is a proud member of our Grapevine AMBUCS chapter and an active volunteer often helping to build and refurbish Trykes. She, along with her entire team, surprised us by presenting a $3,000 sponsorship. This meant that we had the funds to cover the cost of all the Amtrykes given to each of the children that day. Talk about showing the real Christmas Spirit! The Trykes cost at a minimum between $400 and $1,200 each depending on accessories. Now throw in the increases in cost that have occurred due to inflation. With COVID-19 and supply chain issues continuing to wreak havoc on the work that our small, but mighty Grapevine AMBUCS chapter tries hard to do for our community, it was a real blessing to have the support of Five Star Subaru on board to help us again in 2022. Our members volunteer at many venues to be able to keep the ā€œwheels in motionā€ so to speak. Our AMBUCS chapter is one of the largest providers of Amtrykes in the United States due, in part, to the generosity of sponsors such as Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. One of our slogans is ā€œevery child deserves a bikeā€. But what if that child had a spinal or brain injury, spina bifida, or cerebral palsy? Not only would they not be able to ride a conventional bike, but they may not even be able to stay seated due to lack of trunk coordination. Or, what if they could not even walk? The Amtryke is a therapeutic Tryke that assists with all these issues and many more. Our philosophy is that parents have more expenses than anyone can imagine with a disabled child. Our plan is to work very hard to provide their child with an Amtryke for as long as they are getting a benefit: even into adulthood, and all at no cost to the family. Grapevineā€™s Mayor Pro Tem. and proud supporter of AMBUCS, Darlene Freed stated, ā€œEach family showed up not knowing what to expect. The hospitality of the Grapevine AMBUCS, Five Star Subaru and their entire team, made this a very special event. The families were all touched by the joy their children experienced and each of them gave a huge ā€œthank youā€ to the Grapevine AMBUCS who with the help of Five Star Subaru was able to do this for their child. This is why we do what we do and we so appreciate Five Star Subaru for their continued generous commitment to helping us help these children and their families.ā€ We would like to again take this opportunity to express our genuine appreciation to our amazing community partners at Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for their generous continued support and Sponsorship of the 2022 Christmas Amtryke Giveaway.

Keep Grapevine Beautiful/ Five Star Subaru Loves the Earth GIVES Grant

Since 2019, Keep Grapevine Beautiful has enjoyed a robust relationship with the amazing team at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine who are dedicated to their commitment toward environmental stewardship. In keeping with Subaruā€™s Love Promise, to protect and preserve the Earth through action, Five Star Subaru participates in our Adopt-An-Area Program, provides sponsorship for the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant Program and has chosen us to participate in two Car Meets for a Cause to help raise funds to assist the community. Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant Program provides cash awards to schools and organizations for litter prevention, waste reduction or beautification projects or programs. Examples of past projects include the purchase of a water bottle filling station, trash carts, and landscape improvements. Over the past four years, Five Star Subaru Grapevine has provided a total of $12,000 in funding to be disseminated each Fall to winners that are determined by the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Board and a Five Star Subaru Grapevine Representative. This year, Grapevine Faith Christian School was awarded $750 for enhancements at their baseball field entrance. Heritage Elementary School's Garden Club received $1,500 for beautification refresh of their school garden. The UNICEF Club from Colleyville Heritage High School received $750 to repaint the U.S. map at Grapevine Elementary Schoolā€™s playground. Additional support by the Dealership includes Car Meet fundraisers, a donation of a TerraCycle snack wrapper box for placement in our Grapevine REC community center and a Subaru Loves the Earth bench made from TerraCycle recycled snack wrappers. Kathy Nelson, Executive Director of Keep Grapevine Beautiful states, ā€œWe greatly appreciate the good will and support that Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru Grapevine provides to our organization. Their generosity of donated resources and volunteer service allows us to expand our reach within the community.ā€

Subaru Shares the Love with Serving Our Seniors!

On September 16th, Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine helped coordinate a special volunteer day where Subaru employees came to the aid of two senior neighbors. This group of hard-working volunteers provided seasonal yard cleanup for Ms. Doris and ā€œCherokee Mike.ā€ Both SOS clients have expressed their gratitude for your efforts and were amazed by what the volunteers accomplished. Ms. Doris and her sister, Jane said ā€œthe volunteers did a FANTASTIC job and made Doris feel so proud.ā€ The sisters came out and prayed over the volunteers as they finished beautifying the yard! Thank you to the amazing volunteers who came out from Subaru Corporate for sharing the love with our seniors. Serving Our Seniors could not do what we do without the help and support of our partnerships like Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and Subaru of America. SOS and our senior neighbors truly appreciate all that you do to help our community.

Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru and Cook Children's Help Pediatric Patients Heal through Art

The Child Life Department here at Cook Childrenā€™s Medical Center has a BIG job to do. One of our goals is to help children cope through very hard situations. We do this with play, but children find it especially beneficial to heal through art. One of Subaruā€™s Love Promise campaigns is, Subaru Loves to Care. This campaign allowed us to partner with the team at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to provide an extra special event for our patients. Another wave of increased COVID-19 cases during this time made any in-person event or meeting impossible. This did not stop Jessica Bass and Shantai Isom at Five Star Subaru from figuring out a safe way to create a fun event to lift our spirits. Five Star Subaru truly Loves to Care and went the extra mile to give the children in our hospital something special. They partnered with us to provide a virtual art contest for our patients using arts and crafts kits that they graciously donated. Knowing that there would not be enough kits to cover all 65 pediatric patients attending the live art class, Jessica went above and beyond by reaching out to Subaru to ask if it were possible for an additional 40 kits to cover the difference needed to be sent for this event. To our surprise, Jessica, with the help of Subaru, made it happen! They were able to locate arts and crafts kits that were set aside from the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 that were unable to be delivered to hospitals due to the risk to patients during the shutdown. Now all the kids were able to participate in a healing through art class using the contents of their Subaru Loves to Care tin lunch boxes. This was such a wonderful surprise to all of us. Shantai Isom and Jessica Bass were special co-hosts for the Healing through Art activity show. This show was aired on, ā€œThe Child Life Zone Networkā€, a live stream TV station that is viewable for patients to join along either in person or from their hospital rooms. During the live activity show, Shantai and I demonstrated some projects that could be completed using items from the Subaru Art Kits with the theme ā€œLove to Care.ā€ Patients had the option to follow along with the projects being shown in the live class or create beautiful works of art on their own. An origami heart and a painted paper heart were created during the live video class and attendees were asked to text in a picture of their final artwork to be submitted into the art contest. The patientsā€™ projects were then displayed on Cook Childrenā€™s Instagram stories where the community could send a message with their vote. Thanks to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, the top three vote getters received special Subaru mystery prize bags. One of our staff members at Cook Childrenā€™s whose patient won a mystery bag, described how the patient poured over his project all day long. Another patient provided the feedback that her favorite part was just getting to create, and the box was ā€œfull of fun.ā€ She loved the clay and the paint especially! Her parent chimed in with how grateful she was to have a smile brought to her childā€™s face! Art therapy provides a safe place for children to express their feelings and emotions. It can help improve a childā€™s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It really helped our patients and staff to take their minds off any struggles for a little while and create art. We could not provide these events without partnerships who think outside the box to create these special events for our very special children! Thank you, Sam Packā€™s Five Star team and Subaru loves to Care, for caring so much!

Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru Launches Operation "Beat the Heat" Amid Heatwave.

Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine Launches Campaign to "Beat the Heat" by Donating A/C Units to Vulnerable Families Amid Heatwave. Tucked away in the pockets of our quaint little City of Grapevine, TX there are many individuals and families struggling to get by. With gas prices soaring, food deserts popping up, and housing next to unaffordable, there was now an added burden of the elderly and those with chronic illnesses at risk without AC in lower income areas amid a Texas heat wave.ā€Æ In the months of July through September, Texas along with many other parts of the country experienced devastating heat and very minimal rainfall during the peak of our summer. After enduring 67 consecutive days without measurable precipitation and consistent 100+ degree temperatures, our team at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine were discussing our concern for individuals in the community who were at risk from the heat we'd been experiencing. We knew it was our Subaru Love Promise mission to do whatever we could to help our neighbors who were without sufficient access to air conditioning. So, our team at Five Star Subaru put our heads together and came up with a plan to extend compassion and assistance to those suffering through the brutal summer heat inside their homes. With referrals from our charity partners, GRACE- Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange, we identified eight different households in need and found a way to provide them with air conditioners and the means to afford the additional electricity required to run them. This began the Five Star Subaru "Beat the Heat" initiative. Five Star Subaru consistently helps GRACE not only financially, but through our ongoing volunteering efforts to help families in the community with the assistance and resources they need to get by. This year alone, Five Star Subaru has already aided their efforts with over $111,000 through hosted events and donations to provide more than 72,000 service units to nearly 4,400 local families and counting. These services include programs such as a community medical clinic, food pantry, community garden, housing assistance, and many other essential services. However, nobody expected the added burden of heat related illnesses due to lack of sufficient cooling.ā€ÆThat is where we knew we needed to step in and really make a positive impact. "We are trying to do our part to help improve people's quality of life. I think that's simply put, right? For most of us, the record-breaking heat is little more than a nuisance. We can usually find relief in our air-conditioned offices or homes. However, for our elderly, disabled, or just those homebound who cannot afford to fix their window units or replace their HVAC system, this heat can cause devastating living conditions." said Jessica Bass Community Relations Coordinator for Five Star Subaru. ā€œExcessive outdoor temperatures can push indoor ambient temperatures to dangerously high levels for seniors. Thatā€™s why itā€™s so important for older adults to have access to portable AC units when air conditioning systems are unavailable or insufficient.ā€ We had wonderful volunteer assistance from members of our Five Star Subaru family who all did their part to make this possible. Taylor Greene, Nick Eyster, Myles Ramos our Sales Team provided the muscle to transport the units. David Cheney our General Sales Manager, Ron Berman and Shantai Isom our Subaru Love Promise Champions, David Earnest our Shuttle Driver, Tony Hooman our GM and Jessica Bass our Community Relations Coordinator all volunteered to help make multiple trips to deliver a total of eight A/C units to individuals and their families in need of relief. What Love Promise Moments! Thanks to all for supporting this wonderful way to help others in need. We were all deeply moved to see the relief on these individuals faces when we hooked up and turned on the AC units for them. Mark Woolverton, CFRE, Chief Development Officer of GRACE charities sent a handwritten note thanking our team at Five Star Subaru for the Air Conditioners that were donated and delivered to the families in need. His words, ā€œThank you so very much for your very thoughtful efforts to make the lives of some of our clients more comfortable and productive. The conditions in the homes of our clients during the desperately hot summer months is so very oppressive. Our Senior clients and patients from our Community Clinic can now enjoy their homes more and have brand new outlooks on life because of you! On their behalf, thank you!" As the Texas summer heat has finally sizzled out, our Five Star team reflects on the eight families that we were able to help. While we continue to care for others who are less fortunate, we are humbled to have been able to come together once again to help our community and make a positive impact on the safety of our neighbors who so desperately needed relief.

An Uplifting Five Star Subaru Loves Learning Back-to-School Bash

Uplift Education is incredibly grateful for Five Star Subaru of Grapevineā€™s support of Uplift Grand Preparatory School and for hosting a special Subaru Loves Learning celebration for our primary students on August 26. Investing in Uplift Education helps develop globally minded scholars who are college-ready and stay on track to earn a college degree and become leaders in their community. While we have an amazing team of educators and administrators, we know that our goals cannot be reached without partners like Subaru. ā€œI have loved being a partner with Subaru, especially the Grapevine retailer. They are on the other side of the Metroplex and for them to be so committed to us all the way in our community speaks volumes to the work that weā€™re doing here in this neighborhood and to Uplift broadly,ā€ said Christian Martinez-Canchola, Academic Director of Uplift Grand Preparatory Primary School in Grand Prairie, Texas. The amazing teamĀ from Five Star Subaru of Grapevine included Jessica Bass, Shantai Isom, and Ron Berman who hosted an afternoon of fun at our school for more than 800 primary students. This back-to-school bash included a pep rally to distribute awards to our amazing teachers who have been recognized for their exemplary work through the national Subaru Loves Learning Adopt-A-Classroom program. This year alone, Five Star Subaru generously donated well over $10,600 to cover the gap in school supplies that were much needed in the classrooms to help our teachers and students thrive this school year. They also sponsored exciting entertainment, including a Subaru bean bag toss game with prizes for all the students and a refreshing snow cone treatĀ which was enjoyed by all while catching a break from the Texas summer heat. ā€œThey have loved on our teachers. They continue to give grants to our teachers. They spoiled them silly on Teacher Appreciation Day, which was not something the teachers were expecting. The love that our teachers feel from people who donā€™t see the day to day shows that Subaru has a true appreciation for the hard work that teachers do." Thank you to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for your wonderful support partnering with Uplift to teach, engage and inspire our scholars to reach their highest potential and change our world.

Cruisin' for a Cause Remembering Ethan Knight.

Itā€™s said that, ā€œIf you build it, they will come.ā€ Well, at the beginning of 2021, we did just that. Many were ready to get outside after being cooped up inside their homes during the pandemic, so our team at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine joined forces with our loyal community partners to bring people back together. We hit the ground running inviting all of our passionate performance car lovers to come together for a Car Meet that supported a cause! The initial reaction was overwhelming, car enthusiasts came from all over and were excited to be a part of an event where they could bring their hooked up JDM vehicles. Each event we host has been an absolute joy. Picture this...50 to 80 cars (mainly Subaru's) exiting the highway to turn into our dealership grounds. Each time I picture it, I imagine the theme song from The Good the Bad and the Ugly playing in the background. Itā€™s a scene to remember. It is impressive to see the commitment each of these Subaru owners has in building, designing, lighting, and styling their vehicles. There are always a handful of Legacies and Imprezaā€™s to be seen, but the real standouts are the ā€œrally carsā€: the turbo charged WRXs and STIs, the vintage models of which are often cherished as much, if not more, than the brand-new ones. Itā€™s not uncommon for fellow Subaru owners to excitedly give one another a two-finger steering wheel salute when spotting an oncoming hood scoop. Subaru owners truly embrace the culture and comradery which is one of the many things I love most about Subaru. Not to mention, we have the privilege of hosting everyone at Five Star Subaru! However, on June 28th, 2021, the Subaru community was hit hard after an unexpected death of our friend Ethan Knight. It was just another day for Ethan who was at work doing routine maintenance on a natural gas pipeline when an unexpected explosion occurred that took his life. When our Five Star Family heard about the unfortunate accident, it hit us right in the gut. Ethan was a positive light to everyone around him and he loved bringing his 2020 Subaru WRX that he proudly called ā€œWhite Knightā€ to our monthly Car Meets. Ethan had several hobbies, one of which being his passion for working on his car. He was proud of his WRX and enjoyed cruising around with his friends from the Subaru club, Team Boxer Squad North Texas. Ethan and the club consistently attended our car meets and always showed up in style. Not only were Ethan and his group punctual, but they also truly believe in the Subaru Love Promise. Their group consistently go above and beyond by supporting our events and bringing multiple donations to those in need. Because of Ethanā€™s enthusiasm and the relationship we built between him and Team Boxer Squad, we wanted to act. Although there isnā€™t anything we can do to bring him back, we wanted to do something meaningful with his family and close friends to help ease their pain and comfort them through their mourning. Last July, following Ethanā€™s passing, we had our regularly scheduled car meet ā€˜Park for Parkinsonā€™s' where we raised over $1400 towards the Parkinsonā€™s Foundation. In light of recent news, we also made sure to celebrate Ethanā€™s life. There were many touching, heartfelt and happy moments reminiscing about Ethan. Family and friends gathered together around his perfectly detailed WRX to share stories giving those who may not have known him very well a glimpse of the amazing person that he was on a more personal level. During the car meet, many came together to collect donations to complete Ethanā€™s dream project on his 2020 WRX. Although no dollar amount could ever take away the pain losing Ethan has caused, Five Star Subaru contributed a $500 check to his family to help take care of anything this unexpected loss had on them. It was humbling to see many in our community willing to step in and help. Five Star Subaru, Team Boxer Squad, Kraken Motorsports, friends, family, and community all did their part to turn Ethanā€™s dream for his @WhiteKnightWRX into a reality. June 28th, 2022 was the one-year anniversary of Ethanā€™s passing and not a day goes by that he isn't missed. Instead of a car meet in June, our Five Star Subaru crew and those who wanted to do something special to remember Ethan decided on a Cruise for a Cause in his name. The day began with a meet up hosted by Five Star Subaru with Team Boxer Squad and friends of Ethan. Five Star's Jessica Bass and Doug Laymon facilitated the gathering for everyone with tacos, fellowship, and laughter. Lunch was followed by group pictures before departing together on a drive to some of Ethan's favorite spots. We made a pit stop for some bowling courtesy of Kraken Motorsports and continued on for an emotional, yet joyful day. There's no better feeling than to cruise around town in your favorite Subaru all for such an amazing cause...Remembering our friend and loyal Subaru enthusiast, Ethan Shawn Knight. Until we meet again for a joy ride, Rest in Bliss.

Five Star Subaru Grapevine - Blanket Delivery to Cook Children's Hospital

LLS had the pleasure of working with Five Star Subaru Grapevine as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program to deliver blankets, thoughtful messages of hope and art kits to the patients at the hospital. Five Star Subaru went above and beyond in wanting to bring hope and joy to the children receiving treatments at Cook Children's. The kind act was approached with care and hearts of compassion. The friendly social workers and staff at Cook Children's was appreciative of the donations made by Subaru. LLS is thankful to work with Subaru and have partners like them who truly understand what it means to bring light to the darkness of cancer. Thank you, Five Star Subaru for supporting the LLS mission.

Five Star Subaru Presents "Share the Love" Campaign Results!

GRACE is proud and honored to ā€œShare the Loveā€ with Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. Many retailers provide charity funds for their community organizations, but Five Star Subaru goes the extra mile. They do this by actively supporting the community through volunteerism, transforming their dealership into a space to host meaningful charity events, and help in many other ways. These events help organizations who are making a positive impact throughout our community and their work does not go unnoticed. One of the many ways they show their support is through their annual Subaru "Share the Love" event. This annual event is put on by many Subaru retailers across the nation, intending to have customers donate to four national charities and pick an organization in their local area. GRACE has been a proud recipient of ā€œShare the Loveā€ in the past and this year wasnā€™t any different. On May 19th, Five Star Subaru was thrilled to gather everyone together for a wonderful drive-thru parade celebration and presented GRACE with a check of last yearā€™s proceed results from the Subaru "Share the Love" event that was held throughout the Holiday Season. We are excited to say that through Five Star Subaruā€™s event, GRACE received $32,500 from this campaign that will go towards supporting the life-saving, life-affirming mission of GRACE. ā€œThis event makes me happy, not only for me but for our clients,ā€ said GRACE CEO, Shonda Schaefer. ā€œAll of this will go straight into our GRACE programs which heavily benefits our clients on their road towards self-sufficiency.ā€ GRACE is so incredibly proud to work with Five Star Subaruā€™s dedicated staff to help ā€œshare the wordā€ of the many services and programs of GRACE to those in need. Last year, GRACE provided nearly 73,000 service units to more than 12,000 unduplicated clients. A service unit would include a visit to the Food Pantry, payment of rent or utilities for a month, one appointment at the Community Clinic, or any number of other programs and services provided by GRACEā€™s continuum of care. In all, the gift from Five Star Subaru provided nearly 4,400 local families with emergency assistance, food, clothing, medical care, sheltering and sheltering assistance, and referrals to agencies that partner with GRACE, such as the John Peter Smith (JPS) Health Network, One Safe Place domestic violence counseling, and nearly 80 other referral partners. We want to thank everyone who played a part in Five Star Subaruā€™s "Share the Love" event. Customers with Five Star Subaru have shown their support for GRACE by selecting the agency during the ā€œShare the Loveā€ Campaign from among many causes supported by Subaru. To all those who purchased cars or had service performed during ā€œShare the Loveā€ from November to January and selected GRACE as their beneficiary, your generous donations have helped out so much. We would also like to thank Tony Pack, David Cheney, Jessica Bass, Dave Adams with his Pet Ambassador pup Nicholas and the rest of the team at Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for all of your dedication to community commitment and undying support of GRACE. Working together, Five Star Subaru and GRACE can ensure that needs are met throughout the region. The partnership that we have continues to grow each year and we look forward to the many memories that this partnership will make.

A Five Star Subaru Celebration to Share the Love

The donation checks are in and Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine was thrilled to celebrate Mid-Cities Care Corps, one of our two Subaru Share the Love Event hometown charities. On Thursday, May 19th, the team at Five Star Subaru along with our partners gathered for an exciting check presentation parade to gift the money raised during the Subaru Share the Love event that took place from November through January! Elizabeth Grace said, ā€œThe Mid-Cities Care Corps Staff was delighted to attend the best donation presentation in our known history, at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru in Grapevine.ā€ What's so amazing about this? For every new Subaru purchased or leased during the Share the Love event, Subaru donates $250 to the client's choice of four national charities including Meals on Wheels, Make a Wish, ASPCA, and National Park Foundation. It is such a great way to give back to so many wonderful organizations that do extraordinary, life changing things within our community, and this event makes getting a new Subaru even more joyful and meaningful! In addition to the money raised from new Subaru purchases and leases, Five Star Subaru is proud of our commitment to support an incredible organization such as Mid-Cities Care Corps who do incredible work helping the senior neighbors in our local community. ā€œHow can you beat a parade of new cars, balloons, decorations and flowing champagne along with a huge gathering of the Five Star Subaru family that included Tony Pack and Subaru Staff presenting a fun-sized donation check in the amount of $21,500 to MCCC!! It was truly a treat for our entire organization to be a part of that. The level of donation is incredible and extremely meaningful for Mid-Cities Care Corps. This funding will provide real and immediate support to local seniors in need. Subaruā€™s ā€œvision to show love and respect to all peopleā€¦ā€ is complementary to our MCCC mission to preserve the independence and well-being of our senior neighborsā€¦ā€ Many thanks to our partner, Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. This amazing gift allows us to change and impact so many senior lives every day! Thank you for all the blessings!ā€- Elizabeth Grace, Director of MCCC. Over the last 13 years, through the Subaru Share the Love Event, Subaru of America Inc. and its participating retailers have donated more than $200 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national charities and over 1,610 hometown charities. In this, our 14th year, we are on track to bring that total to over $225 million, proving thereā€™s no limit to the amount of love we can all share. Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine is humbled to be a part of this meaningful event each year and we are excited to continue helping make a positive impact in the lives of those in our community.

Subaru Loves Teacher Appreciation Week

Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week on Wednesday, May 4, at Uplift Grand Primary School. When Community Relations Coordinator, Jessica Bass called us a week before with news of a surprise visit to our school with Ron Berman, another member of the Five Star Subaru team, we were delighted. Upon arrival, our teachers and staff were guided into the gymnasium where we were greeted by our Subaru friends to honor Upliftā€™s 60 teachers and Administrators K ā€“ 5th grade. There were delicious treats, $25 gift cards for all, and a fun raffle where many great prizes were won with the fan favorite being a Subaru yoga mat. Subaruā€™s special recognition was a gesture that made a world of a difference for educators whose tireless work is cultivating tomorrowā€™s leaders. Alba Alonso, Uplift Grand Primary Dean, said, ā€œEvery child deserves a champion, an adult that will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be. Our teachers are champions for every scholar at Grand- their cheerleader and biggest fan. Their contributions are invaluable, and we appreciate everything they do! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!ā€ Every day in the classroom are priceless moments that inspire Uplift scholars to achieve their dreams and it takes the commitment from the entire community to ensure that every child has a pathway to success. For many years, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine has established a special partnership with Uplift Grand Primary School in providing school supplies and supporting our teachers. Subaruā€™s investments through philanthropy and relationships demonstrates their leadership and dedication to education and helping Uplift students reach their full potential. Uplift's mission is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower students to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace and that inspire in students a life-long love of learning, achievement, and service in order to positively change their world. Uplift is beyond grateful to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for their support of our schools! After many challenging years, it is extraordinary to have their commitment to ensure that our scholars and teachers have the tools and support they need to succeed. This is the kind of collaboration that strengthens our community and creates endless possibilities for our future. It was an exciting end to our amazing week recognizing the teachers who have been through so much these past couple of years navigating the constant changes throughout the pandemic, but who remain resilient teaching our students. Thank you for making our day extra special and we cannot wait to see you all again during Subaru Loves Learning month.

Subaru Garage BINGO Benefits Transitional Housing

The 2nd Annual GRACE Designer Bags & Bingo (DBB) event sold out again this year with 450 people returning to Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru in Grapevine on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon for one of Springā€™s most fun events. All the money raised supports the Transitional Housing program with much needed funds. GRACE Transitional Housing is a 24-month program for homeless or near-homeless families. Dozens of families are rescued from homelessness threats each year. Throughout the DBB afternoon, competition for over 15 exclusive designer handbags was all anyone could chat about. There were also other wonderful door prizes up for grabs including really great table surprises from Five Star Subaru. This yearā€™s event also came with a few extra addons that took the event to the next level. As attendees arrived, they were handed a glass of champagne with pink cotton candy in it. In addition, delicious appetizers were passed out throughout the event and any winning table received handcrafted mocktail drinks as celebration. While there were out-right winners on most games, the rounds became even more competitive when multiple attendees called out bingo simultaneously. There were also quite a few ties, adding to the excitement of the afternoon. Five Star Subaru, our generous host sponsor, helped make this event all possible!! Along with help from multi-media services, the Five Star team, and many volunteers, Five Star Subaruā€™s state-of-the-art service garage/maintenance bay was transformed into an ultra- upscale and classy event space. Everything from the dĆ©cor to the event itself was truly fabulous. The money raised far exceeded our hopes and Five Star Subaru helped us change the direction and purpose of those in the Transitional Housing program. Five Star has been such a gracious partner to us and due to their contributions and support, GRACE has been able to meet and exceed our event goals and expectations for both years of Designer Bags and Bingo. Which means we are further able to serve the community and help guide families in crisis towards self-sufficiency. Weā€™d personally like to thank Tony Pack, Tony Hooman, Jessica Bass and everyone else at Five Star Subaru for helping make this yearā€™s Designer Bags & Bingo an exceptional experience and a great success! From set up to take down and everything in between, we truly say thank you.

Subaru Loves Learning Rubber Duck Race

As we move through 2022 and get closer to our next educational scholarship fundraising events, we reflect on the success of last year and for the generosity of Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. With the uncertainties in 2020 thru 2021 during the height of the pandemic and coming back to an in-person event after the previous year took place online, it has been extremely humbling to see the resiliency of our community coming back together. We are excited for our local GCISD students who received scholarships this year that otherwise may not have had the opportunity had it not been for our charitable community partners such as Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. On Thursday, October 13th, 2,500 yellow rubber ducks raced in the lazy river at the Grapevine REC Center for prizes. There were ā€œpluckedā€ ducks, a ā€œlameā€ duck and 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners. The annual Grapevine Rotary Rubber Duck race raises money to support scholarships for deserving area High School Seniors. Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine has been a dedicated Event Sponsor for the 4th year in a row donating not only their money, but their time and positive energy as well. Theyā€™ve also added other exciting additions such as facilitating a dice roll for our participating Rotarians and duck adoptees who aspired to leave in a new Subaru. The race began with Subaru of Grapevineā€™s very own Love Promise Champion Ron Berman and the rest of the Five Star team pulling the rope to drop the ducks into the lazy river for a race to the finish. Community Relations Manager Jessica Bass brought even more excitement to the event when she surprised everyone as she arrived dressed up as our designated "shark," pumping up the crowd and worked to ensure that our ducks would swim their record times in fear of being caught by her. Not only does Subaru donate $2500 each year, which many companies do for fundraising events, but Five Star Subaru goes the extra mile leading up to the big race to help get the ducks adopted, serves on the committee to plan the event, promotes the good work of Rotary at their dealership, and actively participates in the annual Grapevine Rotary Duck Race. As the largest and one of the most successful dealerships in Texas, they could choose to just focus on their business and not engage the community. Their mission, however, is greater than selling and leasing cars, they want to make a difference in their community. And they do! On behalf of the Grapevine Rotary Club and all the students who have been gifted educational scholarships, we are forever grateful for you and for the investment that Five Star Subaru has made in these annual scholarship fundraisers. With your help, $20,000 was raised in 2021 towards scholarships!! We look forward to our continued partnership and for more ā€œShark-Nanigansā€ in the next Rubber Duck Race as it was definitely a hit by all of the kiddos and adults alike.

Five Star Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Day

On October 16th, 2021, Operation Kindness and Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine teamed up for the most successful Subaru Loves Pets adoption event yet! Adopters from all over the DFW metroplex attended the event at Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and were so excited and surprised to learn their adoption fees were waived all thanks to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine! Not only did they host a day filled with successful pet adoptions, but that morning during their annual Walk to End Alzheimerā€™s 5k, flyers were passed out about our Subaru Loves Pets adoption event. We were humbled to learn that this brought over many more interested families to the dealership in hopes of finding a fuzzy friend to add to their family. Twenty-six dogs and cats including "underdogs/cats" who otherwise may have had a more difficult time finding a forever home due to a disability were also adopted as a result of the Subaru Loves Pets event. Five of the pets found loving homes with some of Five Star Subaru's very own compassionate team of employees! The weather was perfect and each of the pets loved all the attention and plenty of pettings they received. New pet parent kits were provided by Five Star Subaru to hand out to the "fur"ever families which were filled with plenty of goodies and Subaru plush toys that all the pups loved. The attendees all enjoyed plenty of giveaways and the chance to win raffle prizes from their table full of Subaru gear! All of the adopters, volunteers, and staff were truly grateful as this was our first off-site in person event since Covid. Towards the end of the event, the OpK staff noticed that the adoption trailers tires were low and it would be unsafe to drive back to the shelter. The Five Star Subaru technicians stepped in and saved the day, going above and beyond to check the tire pressure and air them up before sending them on their way to ensure that the pets, staff and volunteers all made it back safely to the shelter. This level of care and concern means the world to us. Five Star Subaru also goes above and beyond outside of adoption events such as collecting shredded paper for the sick puppies at the shelter. This in turn saves volunteers and staff hours of time so they can directly care for the animals in the hospital and the shelter. In addition to hosting the successful adoption day event, Five Star Subaru generously became the Valet Sponsor at our annual Canines, Cats, & Cabernet fundraiser in November. The incredible $10,000 sponsorship helped Operation Kindness on a local level to ensure that all animals who enter our doors will heal and find a loving, forever home. During the event, an employee of Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, John and his wife Nikki adopted their 3rd animal from Operation Kindness right after they had just recently brought home their 2nd pup during the Subaru Loves Pets adoption event at the dealership. ā€œWe love you guys and will never go anywhere else to adopt.ā€-John. The generosity of Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and Subaru that was given during the Subaru Loves Pets program goes beyond the numbers and statistics. Because of you, we are more than simply a shelter. You help provide a safe haven for homeless pets in need of a second chance to find a loving family. Your support allows us to go above and beyond to give every animal the care and kindness they deserve. Each time an animal enters the hospital and is treated and healed, a life is saved and a human life is changed forever. We could not continue our mission and strive for our vision without the kindness and generosity the Subaru family has shown us. Your friendship and partnership are invaluable and we are so excited to continue to work together to save lives!

Big Bike Run for the Little Tryke Fund

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for being the Title Sponsor for our 2021 Grapevine Big Bike Run for the Little Tryke Fund. With Covid, the 2020 year was a virtual cancel and very hard on our little AMBUCS chapter, so to have Five Star Subaru on board for 2021 was a real blessing to us and our community. What better way to start off a beautiful sunny October day than to gather together for a relaxing motorcycle ride along the scenic Texas country roads for our annual poker run. Our ā€œBig Bike Run for the Little Tryke Fundā€ has been a major fundraiser for us for 18 years. Without it, we would not be able to help children with varying degrees of disabilities to become mobile. The tears that flow when these riders see a child gain independence makes it so worth it. Not only did Jessica Maranchello; a proud member of our Grapevine AMBUCS chapter and an active volunteer often helping to build and refurbish Trykes; represent Five Star Subaru by presenting a $5,000 sponsorship, but she also surprised us by announcing that Subaru of America Regional sponsored an additional $1,000. With the support from our amazing community partners, the money raised during our live auction, the fundraising efforts, and from the winners who selflessly gave back their poker run earnings to support Grapevine AMBUCS, we were able to successfully raise over $19,000 towards our ongoing mission to inspire independence and mobility. Their generous sponsorship allowed us to present 2 kids in need with their very own Amtrykes at the event! The sense of freedom and the excitement on the childrenā€™s faces riding through the parking lot at the event for the very first time while everyone in the crowd cheered them on was truly a moving experience. There is nothing better than the smile of a child when they get their first bike. Now imagine if that child had a spinal or brain injury, spina bifida, or cerebral palsy. Not only would they not be able to ride a conventional bike, but they may not even be able to stay seated due to lack of trunk coordination. Or, what if they could not even walk? The Amtryke is a therapeutic Tryke that assists with all of these issues and many more. Our AMBUCS chapter is one of the largest providers of Amtrykes in the Unites States due, in part, to the generosity of sponsors such as Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. These Trykes cost at a minimum of between $400 and $1,200 each depending on accessories. Our members volunteer at many venues to be able to keep the ā€œwheels in motionā€ so to speak. Our philosophy is that parents have more expenses than anyone can imagine with a disabled child, so we are going to work very hard to provide their child with an Amtryke for as long as they are getting a benefit: even into adulthood, and all at no cost to the family. On December 23rd we had the opportunity to bring another wonderful child his bike. It was such a great day for everyone! He is now going to be able to ride with his big brother, Mom, and Dad. All thanks to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for their continued support and for sharing in these rewarding moments with us! You might say, this is our jam or the ā€œwhyā€ of AMBUCS.

Superheroes For Our Senior Neighbors

In Mid-Cities Care Corps 40 years we have never had a Title Sponsor at our Festival of Friends annual "FUN'draising Event. Thanks to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, this year we did! The impact of this sponsorship for our small but mighty organization and our Senior programs will be life changing in ways Five Star and Subaru will never know. Subaru of Grapevine did not stop there however, they also included us in their Subaru Share the Love Event Celebration as a local charity of choice. To say we were over the moon with excitement upon hearing this news is a huge understatement. We will be able to accomplish even more life changing services for the seniors in our community in the months ahead. Things like Safety for Senior Checks, installing wheelchair ramps, grab bars and hand rails, widening entrances in homes for wheelchair access, repairing fences, and an Adopt-A-Lawn program where kind volunteers come and take care of maintaining yards. All of these services help keep seniors independent and safe which most of us take for granted. Here are just a few examples of life changing ways that our partnership with Five Star Subaru of Grapevine has made a positive impact in the lives of our Senior neighbors. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts! -Let me introduce you to Ms. Sandra, the sweetest little lady you will ever meet. Imagine if you were not able to shower, do dishes, or run your home without hot water, FOR A YEAR! Ms. Sandra is one of our Helping Hands clients that we happened to be visiting during a Safety for Senior check. While there checking smoke detectors, changing batteries, installing a/c filters, etc., Ms. Sandra told us she hadnā€™t had hot water for over a year, was showering at her neighbors once a week, and boiling water to keep things going. Ms. Sandra is a 76-year-old widow and was too proud to ask for someone to fix her water heater. Mid-Cities Care Corps through generous donors like Five Star Subaru of Grapevine were able to give Ms. Sandra a beautiful new professionally installed water heater and she no longer has to worry about boiling water to get by. What a life changing event! -Here in TX, the summers are long and sweltering with over 100 degrees and the winters can be bone chilling cold, yes even in TX! Could you walk to work or the store in those temperatures? Imagine you are 70 years old and walking three miles to the grocery store each way, thatā€™s a five-hour round trip journey. You only buy what you can carry as the walk on the return trip means carrying those groceries. Let me introduce you to Albert, a very devoted, lovely man taking care of his wife of over 40 years. Albert was making this five-hour trek, three times a week to get groceries for himself and his sick wife. Albert quit his job so he could take care of her, which meant there was no money to repair his car. Mid-Cities Care Corps had been taking his wife to the doctor via our Transportation program and a volunteer recognized him walking one day. Albert was not aware that we also offered transportation to the grocery, hair salon, bank, or other quality of life drives and didnā€™t want to impose and ask for more help. He was just grateful for the assistance his wife was receiving. Through Mid-Cities Care Corps Albert now has a scheduled ride every two weeks to the grocery where he gets everything he needs, and access to additional transportation is just a call away. Mid-Cities Care Corps also has an Adopt-A-Lawn program where kind volunteers come and take care of his yard. He still walks everyday though, you know, to stay young. -George our fighter, is a very independent, United States Army veteran that served our country proudly. Unfortunately, George became very ill and almost left us and was told he may never walk again or return home. George was determined and told his doctors that he would return home and to not bet against him ever walking again. George did return home through use of a scooter but soon realized his house and doorways did not accommodate using a motorized scooter, leaving him with no access to his front door or bathroom. So, he called us for help. Mid-Cities Care Corps volunteers widened the bathroom doorway to accommodate his scooter and paid for a plumber to install an ADA compliant commode to help him adapt to his new way of life. They also built a wheelchair ramp so he could get in and out of his home. George is very grateful for the services provided that allows him to remain independent in his own home. He broke down and cried when he called the Mid-Cities Care Corps office to thank everyone who lent a helping hand. Volunteers and staff agree that it would be unwise to bet against him ever walking again. Our money is on George.- To have wonderful, caring, involved sponsors, volunteers, and friends like Five Star Subaru of Grapevine on our team, there is nothing we can't do to continue providing our Senior neighbors the independence they deserve.

Uplift Education- AdoptAClassroom.org

Uplift Education is immensely grateful for the generosity and thoughtfulness that Subaru of Grapevine has provided. Through the Adopt A Classroom program, Subaru of Grapevine sponsored five Uplift Education teachers and provided each of them with $500 to purchase much-needed classroom items needs. Our teachers were not only ecstatic to receive the items, but they also felt a sense of honor and prestige to know that their work was not going unnoticed. As we all know, the pandemic has created an unexpected struggle for many families and companies alike. Thanks to the undying commitment to supporting education, Subaru of Grapevine was able to provide our teachers at Uplift Grand Primary School a helping hand as we strive to continue to provide a high-quality education to all students regardless of their zip code. However, Subaru of Grapevine did not stop there. They insisted on going above and beyond, expressing a desire to surprise our Adopt A Classroom teachers and everyone in the entire school. We worked together to plan a surprise event complete with Kona Ice, special gifts, and personal classroom visits so that the students could show their gratitude. It was a special celebration for everyone! At the conclusion of our event, they presented us with yet another surprise; a check to help cover the rest of our school supply's needs. Amazing doesnā€™t even begin to describe the atmosphere that was felt by everyone in attendance that day. Once again, we at Uplift Education are very thankful for the support we received from Subaru of Grapevine as they continue to work towards their goal of making the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible.

Down & Derby For School Supplies

In honor of Subaru Loves Learning, Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru Grapevine partnered once again with our loyal friends at Kraken Motorsports bringing the community together to host another successful family friendly car meet for a cause. On August 14th, the theme for our 2nd Saturday of the monthā€™s car meet was ā€˜Down and Derby for School Suppliesā€™. Our amazing community, JDM import car friends, and Subaru Boxer Squad family all came out to bring school supplies and other items needed for classroom success and safety. These items benefit Five Star Subaru Grapevineā€™s AdoptAClassroom.org partner school, Uplift Grand Preparatory and two of our local area school districts, GCISD and Keller ISD. We were also honored to have our local Boy Scouts of America set up a derby car race track to highlight the evening with exciting derby races which helped support fundraising efforts at their local Longhorn Council. Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, countless teachers, staff, faculty, administrators, and institutional leaders, along with studentsā€™ families, have gone above and beyond to support our students at all educational levels. ā€œOur team at Five Star Subaru Grapevine and the community are committed to helping ensure the education of our children. We also want to be sure that we are doing everything we possibly can to help minimize the stress on our teachers, parents, and students having to navigate through the uncertainty of each day in order to stay safe, keep up with learning, and looking after their mental health. This is our way of helping bring relief to those going back to school during another unsure school year while so many are still being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and newest wave of variants.ā€ Said Jessica Maranchello, Community Relations Manager at Five Star Subaru Grapevine. Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine would like to thank everyone who came out to support our ongoing car meet series always benefitting a worthy cause in the communities where we live. What a rewarding satisfaction it was to have been able to stuff a Subaru full of school supplies for us to deliver before the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Each of the schools were extremely grateful for the supplies, back packs, and other donation items disbursed to them before their first day back to school. They also wished to thank all of us in the community and Subaru for the ongoing support that we continue to provide them throughout the year.

Just Bee-Cause Car Meet

On April 10th, 2021 our team at Five Star Subaru Grapevine continued our partnership with friends in the community hosting our second ongoing Saturday car meet for a cause series. These car meets benefit a local non-profit organization doing amazing work in the community. This month we went GREEN in support of Subaru Loves the Earth. Our incredible community again rose to the challenge by helping raise $655 in Donations for Keep Grapevine Beautiful. In support of the cause, Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru matched the donations raising the total amount to $1,310. The proceeds collected help purchase wildflower seeds, plants, and supplies needed for their beautification projects throughout the year. With the goal of bringing awareness to our neighbors about pollinators such as butterflies and bees who are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat, our collaborated efforts did just that. Planting wildflower seed in our local habitat restoration areas and green spaces is especially important this year after the devastating ice storm in February that shocked many plants, trees, & flowers in our area. ā€œDespite the impact that the week of harsh bitter cold winter weather had, one thing that we can say for sure is that mother nature is one of the biggest teachers of resiliency. Even in the wake of the ice storm it amazes me to see the beauty in the aftermath. Blooming bluebonnets covered in ice, flowers, and other plants in central Texas continue to break through the soil to grace us with their glorious presence. Showing us that despite the conditions, they can make it through the storm. This visual has such a deeper meaning for many of us during these difficult times we find ourselves in with this pandemic and moments like these to be able to come together for a bigger cause is very powerful.ā€ said Jessica Maranchello Community Relations Manager. Kathy Nelson wrote, ā€œOn behalf of the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Board, please accept our sincere thanks for allowing us to participate in Five Star Subaruā€™s Just Bee-Cause Car Meet on April 10. The event was well-run and a great opportunity to learn more about the generous community of Subaru enthusiasts. Your donation of over $1300 will be used for planting wildflower seed and plantings in habitat restoration areas and green spaces within Grapevine. Our organization exists to motivate people to engage in impactful ways that will preserve and enhance the local natural environment. We appreciate Subaru supporting these efforts here, and around the globe. Keep Grapevine Beautiful looks forward to continuing our rich partnership in the years to come.ā€ Sincere thanks to our wonderful Subaru family, friends, and this month's sponsor Boxed Water for your unwavering support during our car meet for a cause. Rob Koenen, CRO at Boxed Water is Better commented "Boxed Water is committed to building community and helping the planet. Subaru Grapevine's idea of assembling the Subaru community to help the planet inspired us to help and we also were able to layer on reforestation efforts with the National Forest Foundation. We've been supplying Subaru retailers who've ditched the plastic for years, but when Subaru Grapevine approached us with this idea, we had to support it." Next time you are out for a drive and see beautiful wildflowers, green landscapes, and the bumblebees or monarch butterflies dancing amongst them, smile because you had a hand in that.

Subaru Garage Transforms into Bingo Palace

GRACE'S inaugural Designer Bags & Bingo event was sold out with over 440 people laughing, snacking and daubing their way through one of most fun events weā€™ve had in years. All the money raised supports the incredible Transitional Housing Program with much needed funds. GRACE Transitional Housing is a 24-month program for homeless or near-homeless families. The competition was fierce as 10 lucky winners went home with exclusive designer bags! Many players received wonderful door prizes and all received terrific swag bags. We had out-right winners on most games. but we also had a couple ties that had to be decided by drawing cards. One draw came down to a dramatic King vs Ace pull for the win! Our host sponsor Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine made it all possible!! Along with help from our multi-media wizards at Alford Media Services, we were able to turn Five Star Subaruā€™s state-of-the-art service garage/maintenance bay into an ultra-unique swankified Bingo Palace! Thanks to Tony Hooman and everyone else at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for helping make Designer Bags & Bingo a unique experience and a great success! The money raised far exceeded our hopes and we canā€™t thank Five Star Subaru enough for helping us change the direction and purpose of those in the Transitional Housing program.

Turbos for Tarrant Area Food Bank

After the Texas freeze in February and seeing the devastating impact it had in our local communities, our team at Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru Grapevine knew that we needed to think of unique fun ways to make a collective difference in bringing people together to help in times of need. After some brainstorming, we partnered with our friends at Kraken Motorsports to come up with a monthly car meet for a cause series taking place on the 2nd Saturday of every month. Adding in our Subaru Love Promise mission to give back and help our community, selecting a local non-profit organization doing amazing work in the community to benefit at our car meet each month became the perfect plan. The first in the series took place on Saturday, March 13th from 7 to 9 pm. It was hosted at Five Star Subaru Grapevine which provided a great space for fellow JDM car lovers in the community to come together to showcase their vehicles. It also continued to help Feed America by collecting donations for our local Tarrant Area Food Bank. Texas families not only struggled with freezing temperatures during the storm, but getting basic grocery items had also been a big challenge to many. Some grocery stores were out of stock of essentials or closed due to power outages for several days. Community Relations Manager, Jessica Maranchello recognized this need in the community. In addition to making grocery store runs in her All Wheel Drive Subaru Forester to help pickup groceries for her neighbors, she reached out to the wonderful people over at Tarrant Area Food Bank to offer assistance in helping collect food items for those in need. By bringing the Subaru community together during Turbos for Tarrant Area Food Bank Car Meet for a cause, we were blown away by the amount of support. Individuals came out in droves with stuffed trunks of food donations. The dealership was packed with lots of compassionate guests coming to enjoy fellowship, great music, delicious food, & really cool cars. After a successful car meet, Jessica Maranchello with 3 of her co-workers Shantai Isom, Nicholas Eyster, & Frankie Saif were beyond thrilled to transport a Subaru Ascent filled with over 800 lbs of canned goods and non-perishable food items collected at the car meet to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Jim McPhearson along with his team graciously met them to receive the donations and take them for a very informational tour of the Tarrant Area Food Bank facility and services. In an effort to provide families with some relief, the Tarrant Area Food Bank with the help of the National Guard resumed its food distribution right when it was needed the most. Alicia and Sean Rizzo from Kraken Motorsports stated, ā€œI just wanted to take a moment to thank the entire team at Five Star Subaru for providing such an amazing venue for our monthly car meet. The level of support you offer to the car community paves the way for people to come together in a safe and fun way for a great cause. As a small business, it is important to us to not only have a great place for our community to meet but also that we do something positive for the community. It is always so humbling to have the opportunity to partner with a larger company, such as Five Star Subaru Grapevine who shares the same values. We had such an amazing time and were just astounded to see our members bring over 800 food items to the car meet to benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank!! Thank you for your continued support and for being such an awesome company, built with amazing people!ā€

Trykes For Tykes

On a sunny December Saturday morning, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and their team watched as six mobility challenged children received trykes. The trykes are engineered by Grapevine AMBUCS alongside physical therapists giving the gift of mobility and independence. The tryke fits the child's needs and gives them the ability to ride a bike by improving physical, mobility, and social skills. We want to give a big thank you for Five Star Subaru's support and the way you give back to our community. You made this a very special day for us as we all watched the kids riding around your parking lot with big smiles on their faces.

Donation for Grace of Grapevine

Transportation is a huge challenge for many GRACE clients. With little public transportation within north Tarrant County, getting to and from work, school, grocers, clinics, and all other destinations is a constant concern. The kind folks at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine know how important reliable transportation is. Recently the dealership worked with a customer to turn her trade-in into a donation to GRACE. Sandi Clark stepped onto the Five Star Subaru lot intent on getting new Subaru. When the conversation turned to the trade-in value of her older model car, Sandi saw the chance to help another person in a much more valuable way. Instead of using her car as a trade-in, Sandi asked the Subaru salesman, Calum Allen, if she could donate it to GRACE instead. Calum and Dee Boyett, Five Star Subaru Public Relations Specialist, immediately contacted GRACE.GRACE was recently selected by Subaru as its 2020 ā€œShare the Loveā€ charityā€”the third year in a row GRACE has been honored in this way. Each year, GRACE and the Subaru leadership and sales team get together to talk about those who come to GRACE for help. The ā€œShare the Loveā€ campaign runs early-November through the first few days of the new year, and Subaru donates $250 to GRACE for every car sold during that time. In total, Five Star Subaru has donated nearly $130,000 to support GRACE services and programs. Naturally, when the opportunity came to help GRACE with the car donation, Calum, Dee, and dealership manager Tony Hooman jumped at the chance. Our thanks to Sandi, for her selfless generosity, and to the folks at Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru for keeping GRACE in their thoughts.

Subaru Sponsors Duck Race 3 years in a row!!

Five Star Subaru is the proud sponsor of the 3rd annual duck race held at Grapevine Parks and Rec. For the past three years, we have been the lead sponsor where proceeds go to help Grapevine and Colleyville High School students with scholarships to help students get computers that normally would not be able to afford one. Especially during COVID is this ever so important for students to have a computer. Students write into GCISD and complete a short essay as to why they can not afford a computer. The Grapevine Rotary gets the essays and with the funds received from the duck race are able to help each and every one of these students receive a computer so they can attend school virtually. Community Relations Manager Dee Boyett aligned with Grapevine Rotary club 3 years ago and is an active member to make sure that all students that need computers will receive one its a main core value of Subaru Loves to Learn. During the pandemic, there have been many teachers who will be asking students how they feel, as a way to gauge the well-being of students during this time. Students that have to worry about food, shelter, clothing, and not being able to have a computer for school have so much more added stress. When they can interact with their peers and teachers they feel a sense of belonging and a feeling of contributing to society through learning. The more students learn the more secure they become and gain a thorough understanding and a sense of well-being which helps to diminish stress levels. Receiving a computer is not only a wonderful gift as it can be life-changing for these students.

Heard it through the Grapevine

Several months ago Subaru of Grapevine was asked to sponsor the Grants program for the City of Grapevine. Subaru feels it is our personal responsibility to protect Earthā€™s natural wonders and encourage our retailers and customers to engage in smart environmental practices. Five Star Subaru aligned with the City of Grapevine to give two different grants away, one for beautification and the other for recycling. There was a meeting held at Five Star Subaru where participants were asked to present their safe and helpful environmental practices for a better future. Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru Community Relations Manager along with the City of Grapevine listened carefully to all those who entered the grant programs. Two different groups were awarded grants. Grapevine Faith High school implemented two water stations to help with recycling. Cross Timbers elementary school is going to beautify their front entrance. During the visit to our dealership, the City of Grapevine learned about our Subaru Loves the earth program with Terracycle. Dee Boyett, Community Relations Manager, and Cindy Harris from City of Grapevine had a meeting and Cindy was introduced to Kyle Riggs from Terracycle. Kyle mentioned how through their partnership with Subaru, ā€œwe have diverted more than 4.200,00 pieces of waste from landfills, he also said,ā€ by transforming collected waste we are able to make recycled benches, picnic tables, and outdoor furniture.ā€On July 22nd, 2020 Cindy invited Subaru of Grapevine to host a meeting with the City of Dallas, City of Fort Worth, and City of Irving. The meeting was to share with our sister cities how Terracycle can improve their communities too. Subaru of America Ryan Streeter and Kyle Riggs from Terracycle showed a power-point presentation. There were many questions and great feedback. In the end, all cities are aligning with Terracycle and Subaru to make a difference in our world. One small act of kindness to help our community turned out to help many others in a cause that puts waste to good use in our community.

Feed our Kids

Today June 19,2020 we at Five Star Subaru showed up with 200 box lunches and and a shave ice cream truck to feed kids that may not have a meal this summer. It is part of Subaru's commitment to our community here in the Grapevine area. With a crossing guard and Subaru team members we enjoyed laughter and smiles galore as each child one by one stepped up to get their sandwich, chip, and juice drink box lunch. But, that was not all we at Five Star Subaru knew it would be a very special touch to have a Tiki Island shave ice cream truck come too. Loaded with reggae music and all kinds of choices kids lined up to receive their ice cream to cool down after their delicious lunch.Community Relations Manager Dee Boyett with two of her co-workers, Casey Pierce and Rutger Kesling enjoyed bringing love to each of these children today. Subaru loves to help, just one part of the Subaru love promise, its one more reason why Subaru is more than a car company.

Covid-19 Strong

Being a part of a community starts in your backyard and we at Five Star Subaru belong to Grapevine Rotary Club where the motto is "Service above Self!" During the past few weeks we at Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru aligned with Grapevine Rotary to make sure Grapevine Fire Department received 1,000 N95 face masks to serve the Grapevine Community. Chief Darrell Brown was so thrilled that through our connections we were able to find masks and have them made quickly so they could have them within a matter of hours. But, that is not all, our Customer Relations Manager at Five Star Subaru Dee Boyett is on a volunteer club that helps people in the Grapevine area by calling people to make sure they have what they need groceries, running errands, walking dog etc. More importantly, help with needs that might be hard to come by like the Police Chief who needed thermometers to check his staff for the virus. By doing the calling list we found out the Chief of police Mike Hamlin and his crew needed thermometers within a few hours we connected the Deputy Superintendent Brad Schnautz with the Chief of Police and they had 11 thermometers at their station that very same day. Through the connections and partnering Sam Pack Five Star Subaru with Grapevine Rotary we were able to not only help our district but other school districts as soon as they heard of this news are helping their local police stations too!! Next week Dee Boyett with two of her co-members from Grapevine Rotary Jan Ramsey and Darlene Freed will meet to sew and make more masks for the police department and fire department and for the dealership and the Rotary club alike. This is what it means when you become more about community, when we go out of our way to build lifelong relationships, "Subaru's Love Promise, we do this because we feel it is the right thing to do!"

Keep Grapevine Beautiful is pleased to announce that Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru Grapevine will be sponsoring our Community Grants Program. Each year we provide up to $3,000 to schools or organizations for projects that focus on improving the community in one of the following areas: litter prevention, waste reduction and beautification. ā€œSubaru loves the Earth and we at Five Star Subaru are very dedicated to helping the beautification of Grapevine, Texas,ā€ says Dee Boyett, Community Relations Specialist of Five Star Subaru. Keep Grapevine Beautiful is excited to collaborate with Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru-Grapevine on this wonderful opportunity for the community. One of this years winners picked by Grapevine Parks and Rec's and Dee Boyett from Five Star Subaru is Grapevine Faith High School. The representative from Grapevine Faith High School, Mallory Greer gave a presentation that we were very interested in supporting. She had some great facts on just how much waste would be eliminated by installing a refillable water station. Teachers, students, and athletic departments both home and visiting would benefit. The opportunity for Subaru to align with recycle, reuse, and re-purpose came alive at their high school and we installed not one but two water stations!!!The most impressive fact we learned from Mallory Greer was, "With one refillable water station we have saved in one year over 400,000 water bottles from making to the landfill."Pictured above are the two water stations as you can see we are all thrilled to be a part of making a difference to help save the earth!!!!

Subaru Loves to Learn

Sam Pack Subaru of Grapevine has championed with the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America, LLC for the past 3 years by donating college scholarships for Eagle Scouts. The Eagle Scouts had to earn the highest level of achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program while being a member of the Longhorn Council and submit a video explaining, ā€œHow Scouting impacted your life as well as your community?ā€ Scholarships have been presented during the ā€œLegacy Breakfastā€ fundraising event held at the Marq in Southlake and chaired by Sanjay Chandra, CFA, Trinity Private Equity Group. This community outreach fundraiser brought the Cities of Colleyville, Grapevine, Southlake and the towns of Trophy Club and Westlake together to support their local Scouting program. With 2019 being the 100th anniversary of the Longhorn Council we opened the scholarship opportunity to Eagle Scouts in the 23 Counties served by the Council. The Council Camporee was held at the Texas Motor Speedway 11/10/19 where Scouts and their families were able to spend a day experiencing Scouting skills and STEM activities followed by an evening of entertainment and achievement awards. Sam Pack Subaru of Grapevine awarded the two winning Scout scholarships during the evening celebration. We thank Sam Pack Subaru for their generosity in supporting Scouting and helping two Eagle Scouts each year through their scholarship program, to further themselves by attending college. When partners like Soles4Souls and Five Star Subaru team up we can and will make a difference in our world it is nice to see that "Subaru Loves to Help!!' With Deepest thanks, Buddy Teaster.

Subaru Loves to Care with Blankets of love

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of North Texas had the amazing pleasure to partner together with Five Star Subaru of Grapevine on June 26 for their Subaru Loves to Care Program. Going Green at Five Star Subaru

Eco-Friendly Award recognizes Subaru retailers who complete comprehensive program to minimize environmental impact in DFW. Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) today presented Subaru of Grapevine with the Subaru Eco-Friendly Retailer Award. This award is given to Subaru retailers who complete a voluntary environmental program designed to make a positive impact on their community and local environment. To complete the comprehensive certification process, Subaru retailers must meet the requirements of a point-based inspection in five areas of conservation: energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, waste management, and community involvement. Five Star Subaru optimized their facilityā€™s energy efficiency by installing all new LED lighting in the entire facility and programmable thermostats. To reduce water consumption, the facility was upgraded with re-cycled water for the car wash, as well as water efficient landscaping. By recycling material such as paper, metal, cardboard and plastic, waste is diverted from landfills. Their facility continues to ensure proper disposal of other waste material such as oil, coolant, batteries and tires, and Subaru of Grapevines employees are actively involved in community programs focused on preserving and protecting the environment. When you visit the cafe area designed for guests to enjoy on their visits you can observe the terra-cycle boxes reserved for re-cycling.

Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and Operation Kindness, the original and largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas came together this holiday season to raise money for their Stock Our Hospital campaign.ā€œThe goal of the ā€œStock Our Hospitalā€ campaign is to help Operation Kindness replenish the medicine and medical supplies they use in caring for more than 5,000 homeless pets each year, ā€œexplains Dee Boyett, Public Relations Specialist for Five Star Subaru. ā€œFive Star Subaru is donating $100 for every car sold in December for a total $10,000 gift. Thanks to its full-service hospital and medical team, Operation Kindness saves the lives of homeless pets that would otherwise be euthanized because costly surgeries or advanced medical services are needed to save their lives. Operation Kindnessā€™ annual medical budget is $1.2 million, and they receive no government funding. In 2017, Operation Kindness completed or paid for 3,140 spays and neuters; Treated 529 cases of heartworms; Treated 2,083 cases of upper respiratory infections; and,363 orthopedic, ophthalmic and internal surgeries. ā€œWeā€™re so grateful for Five Star Subaruā€™s compassion and generosity,ā€ says Jim Hanophy, Chief Executive Officer of Operation Kindness. ā€œThanks to you weā€™ll be able to say YES to many more animals who need us to save their lives and give them a second to snuggle, play and be happy with the people who will call them family.ā€

Five Star Subaru Grapevine "Operation Kindness"

Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and "Operation Kindness" have teamed up to help more pets find their ā€˜happyā€™ in nice homes of Subaru owners. Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru recently demonstrated its generosity during a fundraising event and continues to portray its community support with Pet Adoptions throughout the year. A meaningful Pet Partnership is important to the dealership and the Subaru brand. Pet adoptions are a well-received initiative as the dealership engages in providing resources to help homeless pets find new homes with customers and dealership personnel. On September 27, 2018, Five Star Subaru dealership welcomed area donors into their Corporate Car Museum as hosts of a fundraiser to raise awareness for special needs at Operation Kindness in Carrollton, Texas. The Marketing Director of this compassionate organization, Lynn Handley, shares, ā€œOperation Kindness does not receive any government funding and relies on grants, donations and adoption fees to provide medical care, and behavior support (for these needy animals).ā€ Because of the vital support from partners like Subaru, Operation Kindness has helped 5,088 homeless animals find new loving homes this past year. As the original and largest "no-kill" shelter in North Texas, the operation serves as the go-to partner for 47 area municipal shelters and rescue organizations that have run out of space or do not have the medical resources to care for these animals. Since 1976, Operation Kindness and its generous donors and volunteers, like Five Star Subaru Grapevine, have saved the lives of more than 100,000 homeless pets. During the month of October, Five Star Subaru has been quite active with " Subaru Loves Pets" Events. Currently, the dealership is serving as a collection site seeking much-needed items and supplies for the dogs and cats housed at Operation Kindness. As customers walk through the front doors of the Five Star Subaru Grapevine dealership, they have the opportunity to make a contribution or order an item from Amazon. Having hosted 3 dog adoptions and 1 cat adoption already in the month of October, many of the dealershipā€™s visitors were pleasantly surprised to learn Subaru had paid for their adoption fees during these recent events. The newly adoptive families posted photos of their adorable pets on social media outlets while others told happy stories of being Subaru owners with their "furever" friends. Five Star Subaru of Grapevine encourages Subaru owners to bring their pets while visiting the Service Center offering the special pups treats which are easily found on counters. There is always a warm and friendly atmosphere with a lot of smiles by people and pets alike. Subaru and Operation Kindness are the "purrfect" partnership! Beyond its reliable vehicle reputation, Subaru believes in family relationships while supporting the local community and its needs.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of North Texas

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of North Texas had the wonderful opportunity to partner with 5 Star Subaru for their Subaru Loves to Care Program. As one of 10 local retailers, 5 Star delivered 80 blankets and arts and crafts kits to Lonestar Radiation Oncology, while simultaneously delivering hope, warmth, and words of encouragement to those currently being treated and battling for their lives. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of North Texas is beyond grateful for the generosity and commitment of 5 Star Subaru not only for our mission but also to those in our community. Suba Scout Summer Event

Suba Scout Summer Event Subaru and the City of Grapevine have teamed up with the Boy Scouts of America. The local BSA Council Longhorn Council found a great partner in Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru. Each year Longhorn Council holds community fundraising breakfasts and luncheons. Leaders from all over the metroplex join in support of the Scouting movement. This year something new happened, the Longhorn Council held a competition. For Eagle Scouts heading off to college, to make a video of themselves describing how their scouting experience has changed their lives and how it has made an impact on their futures. The Prize for the winners was $500 and $1000 college scholarships, generously provided by Subaru of Grapevine. After meeting with the Subaru team, we decided to take this new relationship and start a new annual event. SubaScouting! Subaru and the Longhorn Council along with a lot of help from the City of Grapevine put together an event celebrating scouting and Subaruā€™s mutual love of cars. For older scouts, the Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge is one of 134 merit badges available to Scouts. It requires learning all the ins and outs of maintaining a car of your own, from checking the transmission fluid, to how to change a tire. At the Subascouting event held at Meadowmere Park in Grapevine, 25 young scouts earned the Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge using showroom CrossTreks from Subaru, along with instructors who know the CrossTreks like the back of their hands. There were also fishing games, a mobile Rock Climbing tower, and kayaking on the lake, provided by the City of Grapevine. We look forward to putting this event next year, with growing attendance and continued partnership from Five Star Subaru and the City of Grapevine.

Cowtown Great American Cleanup

Keep Fort Worth Beautiful wants to extend their most gracious thanks to the team of Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine for participating in this yearā€™s Cowtown Great American Cleanup. The Cowtown Great American Cleanup celebrated its 34th anniversary this year and is one of the largest litter cleanup events in Fort Worth. Volunteers from over twenty schools, numerous neighborhood associations, faith groups, and individuals joined together to make a difference in their communities. In all, more than 6,000 volunteers removed over 140,000 pounds of litter from local parks, waterways, and roadways. Sam Pack took a leadership role and cleaned up the Oakland Lake Park which was in desperate need of help. Additionally, Sam Pack Five Star Subaru of Grapevine exhibited at the Earth Party, a volunteer after-cleanup party that is also FortWorthā€™s largest green event. The party features lunch for volunteers, a variety of entertainment, and family-friendly activities. This year, the Kids Who Care, Inc. musical theatre performed original works from their Earth and Soul production and electric violinist Zuriel Mereck played a mesmerizing set. The Welman Project created a beautiful mural from repurposed materials with kids attending the event. Perhaps best of all, seven dogs found their forever homes. Earth Party is also a zero waste event, and participants helped divert nearly 90% of the waste away from the landfill. Subaru has established a Love Promise Community Commitment where they believe in being a positive force in something bigger and it all starts in their local communities. This year they made a positive difference in Fort Worth, and we are grateful for their partnership. Thank you Sam Pack Five Star Subaru of Grapevine and thank you for helping with all the Subaru gifts for pets, for all the shelter dogs that were adopted that day!!! Kiddā€™s Kids

Over the years, Kiddā€™s Kids has been approached by various companies who are interested in working with us. While Iā€™m always thankful for the support, when making the decision to form a partnership, itā€™s important to connect with businesses that truly understand the mission of Kiddā€™s Kids and whose values align with ours. We want partners that are not only dedicated to Kiddā€™s Kids, but the community as a whole. Partners like Five Star Subaru. Subaru started the ā€œShare the Loveā€ campaign in 2008 and every year, during the Share the Love event, Subaru retailers across the country donate $250 from every car sold to various charities. Since the Share the Love event started, Subaru retailers have donated millions to charity organizations. But itā€™s not just about selling cars, itā€™s about giving back to their communities. In 2016, the Sam Pack Auto Group opened their first Subaru dealership in Grapevine and selected Kiddā€™s Kids as the recipient of Five Star Subaruā€™s Share the Love campaign. Not knowing much about car sales, I had no idea how many cars would be sold in 6 weeks. Imagine my surprise when Kiddā€™s Kids was presented with a $10,000 check! For the second year in a row, Five Star Subaru chose Kiddā€™s Kids as their charity of choice for Share the Love and informed us their goal was to beat the previous donation of $10,000. Well, they didnā€™t just beat it. They blew it out of the water and a few weeks ago, Kiddā€™s Kids was presented a check for $43,765! Kiddā€™s Kids is incredibly proud and thankful to partner with an amazing company like Five Star Subaru. Thanks to them, we can continue to ā€œput a little love in your heartā€! xo,Caroline

Lead Duck

I just want to thank you again for sponsoring the First Annual Grapevine Rotary Duck Race this past April 5th. It was a huge success! Subaru really does love to Learn!!!! When Five Star Subaru agreed to be the ā€œLead Duckā€ sponsor, we had no idea (other than the financial donation), what that really meant. Subaru quickly became a part of the ā€œduck team". Five Star Subaru helped promote the event on their website and Facebook page. Dee Boyett the PR person came to all the rotary events and helped promote the event. She even helped us with getting ducks adopted. Employees wore yellow ā€œduck raceā€ tee shirts at work and proudly engaged in every aspect of making this event a success. This is not typical of a sponsor and itā€™s a big part of what made the event so successful. We never expected such participation and time commitment from our lead sponsor and we canā€™t begin to tell you how much it meant to us that you Five Star Subaru was on our team. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We hope youā€™ll consider leading the ducks next year. Darlene Freed

Sammy Loves to Visit Five Star Subaru

Sammy Loves to Visit Five Star Subaru My daughter Sammy and I just love to visit Five Star Subaru of Grapevine. She loves the fact that almost everyone there knows her.We not only bought our Forester from your beautiful, brand-new Company, but we also have all of our Subaruā€™s serviced there. Sammy and her friends are in a group called #HEBRocks. We like coming to the dealership and painting rocks for all to see. We then post it on Facebook and anyone can join in the fun. When we found out from Dee Boyett, the customer relations lady, that Make-a-Wish Foundation was having some of their kids come to Five Star Subaru to play games and do some caroling, we wanted to join in the fun. Our group will be there to play games, paint and give inspirational quotes on rocks for the kids to take back to their hospital room. We are also bringing gifts to give to them.Sammy has Downs syndrome and to have a place that she can go to and have fun and feel so accepted, means the world to me.We love Five Star Subaru of Grapevine because it truly stands for the well-known phrase: ā€œLove it is what makes a Subaru a Subaru."

Subaru Loves to Learn

Hi, My name is Kayla, and I came to Five Star Subaru of Grapevine to purchase a new Subaru.I was met by Dee, who showed me around the new dealership. She told me how great a vehicle Subaru is and how they are not only a reliable car, but how the organization works with the community. I proceeded to tell her that I was a teacher, and she said she would like to come to my classroom to tell my kids about Subaru and how important the automotive industry is to everyone. She showed up with all kinds of Subaru gifts for the children in my classroom. They loved the gifts and her stories of a career path at Subaru so much. My kids have very diverse backgrounds, so this was very encouraging to them.I bought a car that day, and I am very pleased to tell you Five Star Subaru cares about their customers and their community.

Meals on Wheels

From the moment I met Iris Bruton it was "love at first sight." She is a woman after my own heartand has worked for Meals on Wheels for years. She loves to help people!!She invited me to be a guest speaker at a function to launch Share the Love Event last week. When she announced that I was with Five Star Subaru and that we had established a great relationship already, she was right. I spoke to the crowd about the fact that for the past nine years Subaru of America has helped Meals on Wheels deliver over 1.7 million meals to America's seniors. I also described how lonely many folks of the elderly community are and how important it is to raise awareness on helping the elderly. I was raised by my grandmother, and she played a very important role in my life. Needless to say there was not a dry eye in the house until I followed it up with this: ā€œNow is an important time to buy a Subaru!!!ā€Several days later, Iris and I also gathered up our employeesā€™ donations and Christmas cards and delivered them to various homes across the Metroplex.Donā€™t forget Subaru of America (in partnership with Five Star Subaru of Grapevine) is donating $250 to worthy charities ā€“ including Meals on Wheels ā€“ between now and January 2nd, 2018, for each new vehicle leased or purchased. Go Big, Go Small, Go Green

Texas Retailer Embraces Eco-Friendliness in Big and Small Ways At Sam Packā€™s Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, TX, going green isnā€™t only for the big items ā€” like quick-closing overhead doors and low-e windows ā€” itā€™s also woven into small details, such as pet adoptions and festival bracelets. Sam Pack has been in the auto business for 37 years, and his auto group includes six dealerships, all bearing the Five Star name and located throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Pack Auto Group dealerships are known for earning top honors. A year after opening its doors, the Subaru store is following suit with its Eco-Friendly Retailer certification. Going Big Car washes are a big deal at Five Star Subaru. Customers can drop by anytime for a complementary wash. Throw in washes for service appointments and new sales, plus redelivery appointments, and the gallons add up. How many washes a day? ā€œI would say easily between 80 and 100,ā€ says Dee Boyett, Customer Relations/Event Coordinator at Five Star. Enter the car wash system that uses reclaimed water. Itā€™s one of Five Starā€™s biggest green additions, but far from the only one. Other highlights include photo cells on exterior light fixtures and highspeed overhead doors that reduce the loss of conditioned air. An electrical timer shuts down non-essential power at night ā€” from computers to shop equipment ā€” reducing after-hours power draw. High-speed overhead doors reduce loss of conditioned air and increase natural light in the service area. 5 additional eco-friendly advancements at Five Star Subaru ā€¢ Programmable thermostats ā€¢ Ceiling fans ā€¢ Low-e windows ā€¢ Low-flow fixtures ā€¢ Comprehensive recycling program Going Small Boyett leads Five Starā€™s Green Team and is joined by four additional members from across the organization ā€” Stephen, Tony, Debbie and Marcus. The team meets monthly and finds methods to use eco-friendly practices in even the smallest ways. Take the wrist bracelets used at Grapevineā€™s Fossil Fest last year. The retailer helped sponsor the event and provided entry bracelets for a childrenā€™s area. Rather than traditional disposable festival bracelets, Boyett found another option. The retailer provided bands made of recycled materials that the children can keep and wear again. Event coordinators ā€œliked it so much, theyā€™re going to do it again next year,ā€ said Boyett. Reusable event bracelets made from recycled materials replace disposable wrist bands. Another fine detail is the paper used to line kennels at Five Starā€™s monthly pet adoption events. Boyett says itā€™s recycled. Green Future Five Starā€™s eco-display (above) mirrors a tree Outside the dealership sits a large tree and grassy area, a prime location for a pet-friendly space. The bench under the tree is made from recycled milk cartons. Plastics that donā€™t break down are troublesome in landfills but make an allweather, long-lasting material for outdoor furniture. Boyett says Green Team plans for the outdoor space include the addition of a pet station made from recycled materials and the inclusion of recycled litter bags. Green Feedback ā€œIt has been infectious,ā€ Boyett says of Five Starā€™s eco-friendly efforts. Sheā€™s had staff members and customers thank her personally for the green practices.

Subaru Loves To Learn Journey Learning Center

Five Star Subaru of Grapevine Helps Journey Learning Center OpenIn keeping with the spirit of ā€œSubaru Loves to Learn,ā€ Five Star Subaru of Grapevine became a sponsor at a fundraiser recently that helped Journey Learning Center open its doors to a new home in Grapevine, TX.Mike Garabedian of Garabedian Properties hosted the fundraiser in October. Journey Learning Center is a non-profit 501-c3 organization that treats children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Garabedian wanted to help this school get its formal start because his daughter attended the school when it was just a teacher in her home. The team came together and Five Star Subaru of Grapevine was proud to join in the mission with a sponsorship. A Back to the 80s Dance Party was held with world-renowned Richard Blade (KROQ, VH1, SiriusXM) emceeing the live music at the special event. Raffles, contests and a Red Carpet experience added to the eveningā€™s festivities for the guests and sponsors attending at the Marq in Southlake. The event greatly assisted the Journey Learning Center to move from its two separate strip center locations to one combined space. This move will now provide for more space for the children, provide a safer environment and have additional space to begin an afterschool program for older children.

Sharing the Love with Kiddā€™s Kids

Last year Kidd's Kids was fortunate to be a beneficiary of Subaru's "Share the Love" campaign. We received a check for $10,000 which went to help us send children with a life-threatening conditions on a five-star trip to Disney World! Kidd's Kids provides hope and happiness by creating beautiful memories for these special children and their families on the all-expenses paid magical trip. Mr. Sam Pack and the entire dealership has worked with Caroline Kraddick, daughter of our late founder, legendary radio host, Kidd Kraddick, to once again partner with us for this year's Share the Love program. They support the community in so many ways and they took the time to allow us to educate them about what we do so that they can help us spread and the word about Kidd's Kids. We are so honored to have their support. We look forward to working with them for many years to come. Many thanks to everyone at the dealership for your incredible support!

One of the patients even joined us for a photo opportunity and took home a blanket that day! As patients left their appointments they were surprised to see a new display set up in the waiting room where they could take home a bit of warmth & hope during a time when things may be unsure.
