If you’re familiar with any Subaru vehicles then it won’t surprise you to learn the Subaru Crosstrek is standard with all-wheel drive. A lot of folks really value this all-wheel drive platform because it provides effortless traction in various driving conditions. Other systems working to keep you in control on the road include Hill Descent Control, a Traction Control System, Vehicle Dynamics Control, and Active Torque Vectoring

There are two traditional engine offerings for the Crosstrek:

  • 2.0L engine that generates 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque
  • 2.5L engine that pumps out up to 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque

Base trims come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission while moving up to higher trims results in a continuously variable transmission.

Subaru is also slowly rolling out a hybrid powerplant option for the Crosstrek. The hybrid is expected to deliver 137 horsepower, 134 lb-ft of torque, and will use its own specifically tuned Continuously Variable Transmission.

Five trim options in all mean you can easily customize the Subaru Crosstrek to be exactly what you’ve always wanted from an SUV. In addition to the performance differences we just discussed, moving from trim to trim will alter features, styling, technology, and much more.

The entire trim list looks like this:

  • Crosstrek
  • Crosstrek Premium
  • Crosstrek Sport
  • Crosstrek Limited
  • Crosstrek Hybrid

The base Crosstrek is fitted with useful technology such as Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Either of these systems will pair your smartphone to the SUV. Also standard is a hefty bit of ground clearance measuring 8.7 inches.

A few goodies you can expect from the Crosstrek Premium include a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and leather-wrapped shifter handle.

The Subaru Crosstrek Sport trim is third in line and is the first to offer the 182-horsepower 2.5L engine as standard.

The Crosstrek Limited is pretty much a fully loaded choice featuring leather-trimmed upholstery and Keyless Access with Push-Button Start and PIN-Code Access.

If you do go with the Crossrek Hybrid you can enjoy an 8-inch touchscreen display, heated front seats, and all the fuel economy benefits that stem from this efficient powerplant.
